How to Brazilian Wax Yourself at Home in 12 Simple Steps

Brazilian wax makes many women feel more attractive, sexy and sensual. If you are embarrassed of exposing yourself to a professional or you have decided to do Brazilian wax at home for some other reason, you should be aware that it is a bit painful and a little complicated. After all, you are dealing with the most sensitive parts of your body.

However, if you are brave enough to proceed, you will discover that it is not such a difficult task at all and that it is a perfect alternative to going to a beauty salon. Just make sure to do it right and carefully follow the tips listed below for a Brazilian wax at home in 12 simple steps.

Important Tips:

1. Do not wax while you have your period. It is a lot more painful.

2. If you are very sensitive to pain, take a pain killer, such as Tylenol or Advil. Many women do it.

Step 1

Pink Razor

Avoid shaving for at least two weeks before Brazilian waxing, and gently exfoliate the waxing area two days prior to hair removal to remove dead skin cells and prevent bumps.

Step 2

Prepare the cotton or cloth strips that come along with the Brazilian wax kit. They should be small and you might need to trim them. If you wax smaller parts of your pubic area, you will feel less pain.

Step 3

Take a warm shower and wash and clean well the entire pubic area with a mild soap. Do not apply any lotions, creams or oils.

Step 4

If your pubic hair is too long, trim it with scissors to about ¼ inch long.

Step 5

Apply some baby powder to the area you are going to wax. It will absorb all excess the oil and moisture, allowing the wax to stick better to the hair.

Step 6

Heat the wax according to the manufacturer’s directions, using the wax warmer or the microwave. Allow it cool for 1 minute.

Step 7

Place a mirror between your legs, so that you can see the entire area you wish to wax.

Step 8

Dip the wooden stick (included in the package) into the wax, and then apply a thin layer of wax onto a small area of your pubic region. It should be just slightly smaller than the cloth strips you have prepared before. Always apply the wax in the direction of the hair growth.

Begin with the most accessible parts and work your way toward the anus.

Remember that if you apply too much wax, the pain will be greater.

Step 9

Immediately press the strip onto the waxed area and smooth it down well in the same direction the hair grows.

Step 10

Allow the wax to cool, and then stretch the skin taught with one hand. Pick up the edge of the strip with the other hand, and rip it off together with wax in the opposite direction of the hair growth. It is important to do it with a rapid and fluid motion. It will hurt a little, but it’s not that terrible.

Repeat this step until you have removed all the pubic hair, or until you have achieved your desired results.

If the area becomes red or painful, wait a bit until it calms down, and then continue.

Step 11

Use tweezers to pluck remaining hairs.

Step 12

Gently wipe off the residue wax using an appropriate after-waxing oil.

Finish by applying a soothing lotion or a cream containing salicylic acid to prevent bumps and subcutaneous hairs.

One More Tip:

Use a gentle scrub to exfoliate the waxed area two days after the hair removal. This will reduce the risk of ingrown hairs. Continue exfoliating every two or three days.

There you have it! Just follow the above instructions and you will have the perfectly clean and smooth pubic area you’ve always desired. Let us know if it has worked! You know what to do – just leave a comment in the box below.
