How to Tighten and Tone Your Body

Summer is coming whether we’re ready or not, and the bikini’s will soon be coming out for a walk around the beach or swimming pool. Working out is the obvious answer, but there’s more to keeping your body looking good than you think. If you’re like me and simply don’t have it in you to continuously fit in a gym session, here’s a few pointers to tighten and tone your body!

First of all, regardless of your body shape confidence is key. You have to be comfortable with the way you look. If you’re comfortable in your own skin, everyone around you will see your radiance and it will keep you looking attractive on all kinds of levels.

1. Cold Water

Here’s the thing, when the body is exposed to heat, be it in the form of water or temperature around us, our body adapts to that by ensuring that our blood flows slowly. This reduces our body temperature, which means that our bodily functions are carried out slower. So the trick to burning fat is to increase the circulation of blood. One way to do this is to take a cold shower. Doing this will tighten your blood vessels and speed up the circulation. You will feel your skin feeling tightened.

Another benefit is that when you take a colder shower, the bigger the difference between your body temperature and the water temperature that you’re using the higher rate of fat is being burned. I’m not saying you will come out of the shower an entirely new shape, but you will gradually notice a toning effect.

2. Don’t Be Lazy

If you have somewhere to go, or you work away from home opt for a different route. Take the stairs instead of the lift, walk instead of catching a cab. Take a bike instead of a bus. The choices are limitless and the results worth it.

Taking the stairs alone will increase the calories you burn. Not only that but it’s the ideal exercise to target those stubborn areas such as your butt and thighs. Riding a bike will target your abs as well as your overall body’s well-being.  It will do the same trick of getting you from A to B, so why not give it a try!

3. Choices Choices

Being social is inevitably part of our lives. But going to restaurant and bar can do your body more bad than good in some cases. To work towards achieving the body you desire this summer try changing the way you order.

Instead of having the pizza you always order, try going for a lighter option. Pizza comes in many forms and some are surely better than others. Just keep in mind that foods rich in oil and fat tend to leave you bloated. Not the look you want with a bikini, right?

When drinks come to mind, if you want to keep your stomach bloat free go for a more classic drink such as wine. It’s not only good for your heart it is less likely to give you the gassy affect that mixed drinks and cocktails entail.

You don’t have to change much of your day-to-day habits. However the few changes you do make will help you in the long run. Now go work for that bikini! Share your tips on ways to staying fit this summer!
