From neutrals to deep, dark colors, blonde hair offers you the chance to experiment with different lipsticks. Here we show you what color lipstick to match to your blonde hair, no matter what shade it is.
Red
Red lipstick just screams “hot, seductive vixen”. Hollywood goddesses have worn it for decades, and there are intense shades of red to match any hair color and complexion. Singer Gwen Stefani shows us how to rock the red.
You can choose from deep to bright, but don’t go too dark, as the shades that look brownish will not look so good. Choose a moisturizing lipstick that will make your lips look touchable and full, and stay away from the dry, matte ones.
With glamorous red lipstick, the rest of your make-up should be minimal, so go with black eyeliner, a hint of blush and mascara. Match the shade with your nail polish for a full fatal look!
- NARS – Heat Wave
- Revlon Colorburst – True Red
Nude
Go for the catwalk look with nude shades that will make your lips look soft while bringing out your eyes. Nudes look great on lips no matter what shade your hair or skin are, and they also work with thin lips as well as full ones.
Neutral beige, peach and salmon in the lightest of shades will give you that “Ice queen” look which goes great with a bold outfit. Get the hot look just like Victoria’s Angel Doutzen Kroes! Look for sheer, glossy formulas, or if you think it will look too much like foundation on your lips, find a liquid gloss and go with that. This also gives you the chance to make your eye make-up stronger to accentuate your eye color.

- Illamasqua – Soft Pink Chocolate
Fruit Colors
If your hair is medium blond, you’re the perfect candidate for rich, fruity shades of lipstick. Peach, apricot and coral will look awesome on you, especially if you have a fresh tan. Check out Scarlet Johansson’s bright color.
Pick a color and try out several lipsticks which vary in density and shade, to find one that will make your lips look great without clashing with the color of your teeth. Unfortunately, bright colors can sometimes make the teeth look yellow, so don’t give up until you find that perfect one.

- MAC – Vegas Volt
Pink
A bright, eye-catching pink can look great, but like with fruit colors, you need to find the shade that will compliment your teeth and complexion. Very bright pinks should be sheer and glossy to avoid that bubble-gum look. Actress Blake Lively has found the perfect pink shade for her blonde locks.
- NARS – Carthage
- Dior Addict – Rose Shocking
Purple
A darker shade of purple can be super glamorous on blonde girls with a fair complexion and blue or green eyes. As seen here on actress Amanda Seyfried, the color should be plum, in a formula that “stains” your lips. Apply clear gloss over the color to give lips more volume.
- Giorgio Armani Rouge D’Armani – Black Lacquer 602
- Lancôme Rouge in love – Violette Coquette
Of course, if you’re not into experimenting with new colors, just go with a clear, shimmery gloss that will enhance the natural color of your lips. Shades that you should avoid at all costs are deep browns, orange and frosted ones.
