Food for Glowing Skin

Although cosmetic treatments and expensive products can seem to improve the quality of your skin, it's your daily way of taking care of your skin, the reason to have a beautiful skin. If you want your skin to feel and look amazing, you have to be careful in choosing what you eat. Here are a few edibles that will make your skin smooth, glowing and fabulous.

Firstly, you’re going to need food rich in vitamins, above all vitamins B, C and E. Vitamin B2 is actually the one that will help your skin glow. Foods rich in vitamin B2 are crimini mushrooms, milk and dairy products, spinach, eggs and beef. How ever, be careful – some studies have shown that milk and other dairy products can cause acne. If you’re acne prone, try to avoid milk and choose other foods rich in vitamin B2 instead.

When it comes to vitamin C, you’ll find it in fruit: oranges, tangerines, kiwi, guavas, and strawberries. Vitamin E is often found in nuts, tropical fruits, sunflower seeds and spinach again. Also, you should make sure that you’re drinking enough water. In order to keep your skin hydrated, you need to have at least 8-10 glasses of water a day.

Foods You Should Add to Your Diet

Fresh Fruits and Vegetables

Rich in vitamins and minerals, they’ll make you feel healthy and your skin will look amazing! Tomatoes, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, grapefruit, carrots, spinach, oranges – keeping it fresh, healthy and nutritious!

Fish

Ah, the amazing source of omega-3 fatty acids! Eat salmon, black and red caviar, sardine, and tuna.

Water, water, water!

If you don’t drink enough water, not even the most expensive skincare will hydrate your skin. Try to avoid soft drinks and turn to good old water and tea instead.

You Should Avoid

Alcohol

Having more than two glasses a day will most probably result in dilated pores and a few glare-ups. Feel free to have a glass of red wine after lunch, but don’t cross the daily limit.

Caffeine

Large amounts of coffee will make your skin dehydrated and it will feel really dry. You shouldn’t drink more than three cups of coffee a day. Instead of coffee, you can drink plenty of water or green tea instead. Green tea is an amazing antioxidant, and it also reactivates drying skin cells.

Soda, Doughnuts, French Fries, Microwaved Food

You should definitely avoid foods rich in sugar and fat. Not only are they super calorific, but will make your skin look dry and unhealthy and even cause acne. Eat fruits, vegetables, meat and drink plenty of water and unsweetened tea. If you’re used to drinking juice, you can add a slice of lemon or your favorite fruit to your water to spice things up!

Even though these edibles will undoubtedly help improve the quality of your skin, don’t expect these improvements to happen overnight. Be patient and persistent, you will notice the change!
