Looking Stylish at Business Conferences: Outfit Inspirations

Are you invited to attend a business conference? Wondering what to wear? If the conference you are attending does not have a strict dress code, here some ideas on what outfits are the most appropriate for such an event:

1. A Dress

You can always go for a nice business dress. Choose a subtle color, for example grey, brown or maybe a darker shade of purple or bordeaux. If it’s warm outside, beige and light grey will be ideal. If you still want to wear a brighter color, make sure that the dress is straight cut and simple in its design. It’s advisable to wear stockings unless it’s way too warm for that. Combine your dress with either flat shoes or medium or low heel pumps. Always choose a bag large enough to fit all the essentials and all the conference materials that you normally get in abundance at an event of this sort.

2. A Business Suit

A business suit is definitely the safest choice. This is certainly something recommended for the conservative dressers. You can choose between either a pant suit or a skirt suit. Combining metal accessories or those in brighter colors will break up the strict form a business suit. It’s always better to dress up than to dress down, so feel free to put on some classy shoes and an extravagant bag.

3. A Pencil Skirt

For a less formal conference or in case when you are afraid that you might overdo it by looking way to formal, we recommend combining a pencil skirt with a nice shirt. Just make sure that everything fits perfectly and that you feel comfortable wearing your clothes. Don’t wear anything that cannot be worn for long periods of time. Avoid soft cotton and linen materials because you don’t want to stand up after a lecture covered in wrinkles. Your outfit has to hold up. You might also want to bring a blazer or a cardigan because conference rooms are notorious for having their AC on max.
