This kale and ginger drink is one of my favorite go-to healthy smoothies when I’m feeling under the weather. Ginger helps with blood circulation and keeps your immune system strong. To make this drink, you will need the following:

  • 1 frozen ripe banana (sliced to small pieces)
  • 2 cups kale leaves (center ribs removed)
  • ½ cup frozen berries
  • 2 teaspoons finely grated ginger
  • 1 cup unsweetened milk (or non-dairy milk substitute)
  • 1 tablespoon raw honey
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 pinch ground cinnamon

Place all the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth. Add more almond milk if the mixture is too thick.

Tips For Stellar Smoothies

For stellar and tasty smoothies, you can try the following tips:

  • To cut down your preparation time in the morning, you can slice the fruits the night before and put them in the freezer.
  • Put in the liquid first to allow the blender blades to move freely. Then, add your greens and smaller ingredients, and your chunks of fruit last.
  • Choose the slow function first to allow the blender to break up big pieces of fruit. Then work your way up to a faster speed to achieve a puree.
  • Add ice to dilute very thick consistencies. Just toss a few cubes in the blender and you’re good to go!

Have fun with these healthy smoothie recipes and start your day with a big smile!
