Top 4 Variations of the Traditional Cuban Mojito

The traditional Mojito is a rum-based highball from Cuba. It’s super delicious and very refreshing, and so are these 4 variations of this amazing Cuban cocktail!

Traditionally, a mojito has 5 main ingredients: rum, sugar, lime juice, mint and soda water. These ingredients make it a perfect mixture of citrus flavors, sweetness and mint. This makes the Mojito one of the most popular summer cocktails.

1. Strawberry Mojito

This is a super tasty, fruity variation of the traditional Mojito. It’s sweeter, and perfect for all those strawberry lovers! Plus, it’s super easy to make.

You’ll need:

  • 10 mint leaves
  • 3 strawberries
  • ½ of a lime
  • 2 teaspoons of brown sugar
  • 2oz of white rum
  • some club soda

Mix the two strawberries, lime juice, mint leaves and two teaspoons of sugar in a highball glass. Add some crushed ice and the rum. Fill the glass with club soda, and garnish with a strawberry.

2. Mango Mojito

If you like to eat mango, you are going to love this cocktail! Its taste may remind you of a mojito, but eventually the mango steals the show and becomes the main flavor of this drink.

You’ll need:

  • 5 mint leaves
  • 1½oz of mango rum
  • 3 oz of club soda
  • 1 lime wedge

Muddle the mint leaves and the lime wedge. Then add the rum, and some club soda. Serve with a couple of ice cubes.

3. Miami Mojito

This one is perfect for the long sunny days at South Beach, but you can make it at home in a couple of minutes, and bring that beach feeling to your backyard!

You’ll need:

  • 12 mint leaves
  • 1 cup of gold rum
  • ½ a cup of brown sugar
  • ¼ a cup of lime juice
  • 1½ teaspoons of lime peel
  • 3 cups of club soda

Put all the ingredients in a blender and mix for 30 seconds. Serve it in a highball glass over some crushed ice.

4. Pineapple Mojito

Pineapple is tasty, healthy and very refreshing. This cocktail is perfect for the super hot summer days – and nights, too!

You’ll need:

  • 1oz of pineapple juice
  • 2 slices of pineapple
  • 5 lime wedges
  • 7 mint leaves
  • 3oz of Brugal Añejo Rum
  • 1oz of Triple Sec

You’ll also need a cocktail shaker for this one. Put the pineapple, lime and mint leaves in your cocktail shaker and muddle well. Then add the ice, and the rest of the ingredients. Shake well. Serve it in a highball glass, with a couple of ice cubes. Garnish this cocktail with a mint sprig.
