1. You Will Do Exactly What You Want
The biggest benefit of running you own business is being able to do exactly what you want to. You will not get stuck in the job you hate, you will do the work you love and you will love the work you do.
You may think that this is not really that important, but think about it. What happens when in twenty years from now you realize that you’ve spent the best years of your life doing some boring job you hated? And in all that time, you could have taken your chances and started your own business. Isn’t that a risk worth taking? I would say it is.
2. You Will Work for Yourself
There will be no bosses, no working overtime because someone else said so and no earning money for a bunch of other people you don’t even know. All the work, all the effort you put in will be with a sole intention to earn money for yourself.
Just imagine, you will be earning money for you and your family, for your vacations, for your children’s school, for all the things you want. There will be no one else to tell you how much your work is worth, you are worth what you earn.
3. You Will Get to Choose Where You Work
Starting your own business comes with another great benefit of choosing the place of your work. Whether you are renting a place or deciding to work from home, the decision will be yours only.
Both ways have their advantages and disadvantages and the choice depends on you and the work you will be doing. Choosing an office is better for some kinds of work, while working for home is for the others. If you will involve yourself into making stuff, like jewelry for example, or running a business that depends on contacts you make, you can easily work from home. And I believe I don’t have to tell you how many benefits that brings. I’ll just mention not travelling to work every day and being around your family as much as possible. Totally worth it, right?
On the other hand, if you do choose the office, you can choose it to be on a 5 minutes’ walk from your home instead of on an hour and a half drive. You will also be able to decorate the place as you like it and make it completely your own.
Remember that starting your own business although it is a risk worth taking is still a great risk. You need to think everything through and maybe even hire a professional to help you. In the end, you want to make your living out of that business and failing will definitely not bring anything good.
