4 Cool and Different Piercings

It used to be pretty clear – it’s either a nose, lip, naval or a brow piercing. Nowadays you have your options open – there are so many interesting places to get pierced! So, if you’re up for experimenting and into this kind of thing check out our list of 4 really cool and different piercings!

 1. Cheek Piercing

This is a facial body piercing that goes through the cheek. Cheek piercings are usually placed symmetrically on both sides of the face penetrating or imitating dimples. Other placements are also possible, but this is the most common one as it is the thinnest part of your cheek and therefore will heal the fastest.

When it comes to healing, they are similar to lip piercings (cheek piercings can also qualify as oral piercings because the long labret studs penetrate all the way through to the inside of your mouth).

The healing process goes from 4 to 12 weeks and during that time there are rules for maintaining it that need to be followed in order for everything to heal right, such as no drinking alcohol and no smoking etc.

 2. Industrial Piercing

These are sometimes called Scaffold Piercings, or Construction Piercings. An industrial Piercing is a single straight piece of jewelry connecting two pierced holes. The typical placement for an industrial piercing is the ear, where two piercings are made on the helix and anti-helix on opposite sides, but they can be placed on other parts of your body as well.

Taking care of them is a huge thing, cause you’re basically taking care of two helix piercings done at once, and the chances of infection are doubled. But, if you follow instructions and do as you’re supposed to, the ear cartilage should heal without any problems. It can take up to 16 weeks though.

 3. Anti – Eyebrow Piercing

This is a type of a surface piercing where the upper cheek is pierced, just below the eye, on the top of your cheekbone, usually placed diagonally. Being a surface piercing, it is a bit more delicate and taking care of it during the healing period that takes up to 12 weeks is a bit more complex.

 4. Hip Piercing

This is a surface piercing typically done in couplets – one on each hip. They are usually placed diagonally in the area near the hipbone. This type of piercing is relatively contemporary and they’ve recently become very popular, just as belly button piercings used to be.

The healing period can last up to 16 weeks and taking good care of them is essential during that time, as well as later on. Seeing as they’re placed in that area there’s always a great chance you’ll accidentally catch them while changing for example, so you’ll need to be extra careful.
