7 Creative Gender Reveal Ideas

If you’re still not sure whether to find out if you’re having a little ‘he’ or ‘she’ then these fantastic gender reveal ideas may just be able to sway you! Here are 7 fabulous ways to let your loved ones know if they should start buying pink or blue!

Whether or not to find out the sex of your baby is a personal decision that some women find very difficult to make! On the one hand, not finding out means that you’re left with a wonderful surprise on the day of delivery; on the other hand finding out means that you get to be as close to prepared as you can be with your nursery and little ones wardrobe!

#1 Cake reveal

When you find out the gender of your baby why not get the family round for a good old spot of cake. Depending on whether you’re having a girl or a boy, fill a cake with blue or pink smarties, or even blue or pink frosting. Make the outside of the cake neutral with cream frosting so as not to give anything away and gather everyone around to watch as you cut into the cake to reveal buba’s gender!

#2 Paint balloon fight

This is a great one if you fancy getting active and a teeny tiny bit messy! Fill water balloons with pink or blue paint or dyed water and start the mother of all water balloon fights! Everyone will get covered head to toe in pink or blue while finding out who the next member of the family will be! It’s a fun way to get kids involved as well as adults, just make sure to wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little bit messy!

#3 Shooting pink or blue

Here’s another great one for getting messy. Fill water pistols with paint or dyed water in either pink or blue and get shooting! This and the paint balloon idea would also make for awesome photo opportunities; you could get some great action shots and send those around to your loved ones if they can’t be there for the main event!

#4 Scratchcard reveal

This idea takes a little bit more preparation but it’s a fun one that everyone can join in with. You can put either the words ‘it’s a girl/boy’ or perhaps a pink or blue balloon onto a card and let your loved ones scratch away in antisipation!

There are lots of companies out there that will make your customised scratch cards but if you fancy a bit of DIY then you could even make the scratch cards yourself! Firstly print the message you want to be revealed onto card. Next, mix one part washing up liquid with two parts paint; most people use metalic but acrylic would be great too. Paint the mixture onto sticky back plastic and once it’s dry, peel off the backing and stick it over your gender reveal message! It’s as simple as that!

#5 Hershey’s reveal

This is a yummy treat, especially for those with a sweet tooth! Buy your loved ones a Hershey’s bar each and color in the letters depending on what the gender of your bambino is. For a girl, use a felt tip pen to color in the ‘SHE’ pink and for a boy color in the ‘HE’ blue. They’ll not only get the fantastic news but they’ll also have a yummy chocolate bar to enjoy – winner!

#6 Piñata

A piñata is a great way to get everyone together and even bring in a bit of friendly competition! Fill it with pink or blue confetti and watch as it showers out revealing whether you’re having a little man or a little lady!

#7 Bubble gum

This idea is better as a photo as it may be a little boring to gather your loved ones around to watch you blow a bubblegum bubble! Blow a bubble with pink or blue bubblegum, snap a picture and send it out to your friends and family. This would look great if the whole picture was in black and white except for the bubble!

With so many creative ways to reveal your bumps gender it really is tempting to decide to find out what you’re having isn’t it!?
