Some people are scared to death of them. If you are one of these guys, don’t despair, you can chose to give your fear a serious blow by taking one of these rides. But if you think that your heart can’t take it, then there is always one of those roller coaster simulators, that will amuse you, but not quite leave you screaming for round two. For all the rest of us, there is this to-do list of the five fastest roller coasters in the world.

Located at the Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, since November 2010 this is the fastest roller coaster in the world. reaching the incredible speed of 150 miles per hour. It goes 22mph faster than the next best thing. It is designed to resemble the Italian racetrack Aerodromo Nazionale Monza.

Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso, Ferrari Formula One drivers couldn’t resist taking a ride on it on November 11, 2010, 3 days before the 2010 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The roller coaster has an incredible view, but due to the amazing speed and the adrenaline rush you won’t enjoy the view as much, you’ll just have to find a different way to enjoy the landscape.

Here is a ride that had survived a hurricane and was hit by lightning, but is still up and kicking! Named after a golden tabby tiger that lived nearby for some time, this roller coaster is all about the jungle, with it’s surroundings and the sounds. It may be the second fastest in the world, but it is the tallest. It is the second strata ever built, which means that it has a drop of over 400ft, and completes a full circle. It is located at the Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson, New Jersey.

Besides the Kingda Ka, it is the only strata coaster in the world. If you are not ready to go on this thrill ride right away, there are fifteen other roller coasters that you can enjoy at the Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio. With the tagline “Race For the Sky” it had lost the second place as the fastest for only 8mph, but when it was built back in 2003 it was both the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. Its theme is the Top Fuel Drag Racing, so if you are a fan, you have one extra reason to go on this crazy ride.

Even thought it is only the fourth fastest roller coaster in the world, it is one of the scariest rides of its kind in the world, and when it comes to acceleration, it is on the top of the list. It is located at the Fuji-Q Highland Amusement Park in Fujiyoshida, Yamanashi, Japan, and it’s name has been given in the spirit of tradition. Don-don-pa is the name of ancient Japanese war drums, and you can hear them at the waiting line.

5. Superman: Escape from Krypton

Ever wanted to be a superhero? Here’s your chance to feel like one. The “Superman: Escape from Krypton” ride, located at the Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, California, is designed to guide you trough all the dangers of escaping the rocky planet before it takes your superpowers away. First you have to take a long climb up the hill to get to it, enter the loading area modeled after the Fortress of Solitude, to get to the 100mph ride trough the crystalline interior.

So, whether you wanted to be a race car driver, a superhero or a samurai, there is a place for you on these roller coasters. Just keep your arms down, head back, hold on and enjoy the ride!
