4 Things You Need to Know About Home Remedies to Lose Weight in a Week

Every woman would like some magical formula that will help her lose weight right away. Unfortunately, there is no such a thing and you need to work if you want to lose some weight. But fortunately, there are some things you could do to help yourself during this process, so check out 4 things you need to know about home remedies to lose weight in a week.

1. No Rush

Healthy lifestyles concept

First of all you really need to remember that you can’t do anything within a couple of days and that losing weight takes time. In fact, even if you could do something about that, you probably shouldn’t because it is very bad for your health.

You should not lose more than 10% of your weight in one month, which means no more than 2.5% a week. Losing more weight than this is possible, but very bad for you, so if you are committing yourself to losing weight, remember that patience is a virtue.

2. Consult Your Doctor

Don’t make your dieting plan yourself. You might have some good ideas, but on the other hand you might have some ideas that could be very bad and very harmful to your body and your health. Get serious about losing weight, and consult with your doctor.

You can mention what you think and what things you could easily exclude from your diet, but leave it to your doctor to make a final decision and a special diet program for you. Don’t believe in all those diets you can find on the internet. Some of them are good, but some are really bad, which is why consulting your doctor is crucial.

3. Make Small Changes

If you have only a couple of pounds to lose and you don’t want to be on a special diet, there are some things you could do yourself. These are the true home remedies to lose weight, so it would be a good idea to study them. First and foremost, remember that you must not make any radical change in your diet and your life style. Small changes and small steps take more time, but have a lasting effect:

  • Start eating slowly – when you eat it takes approximately 20 minutes to half an hour for your brain to understand that you are eating. When eating fast, you tend to eat more than you should. Eat slowly instead and give your brain enough time to send a signal to your stomach that you’re not hungry any more.
  • Don’t eat standing up – Dietitians say that your brain does not register that you’re eating if you eat standing up. Now, I don’t know if this is true, but I do tend to get hungry faster when I eat on foot, so I always sit down and eat at the table. I suggest you do the same.
  • No snacks – Snacks are the main reason for people to gain weight, and if you can avoid them anyhow, make sure to do that. It’s not going to be easy, a lot of us have a habit to snack when watching TV, but if you can’t get snacks completely out at least change them for something healthier. Instead of chips with movie, eat baby carrots or any other vegetable, apples or dry fruits and nuts. Remember that dry fruits and nuts are the richest in calories from this list, but they are still better than potato chips.
  • More small meals – Instead of having three main meals during a day, start having 5 small ones. But really, small ones, you can’t have five normal meals a day. This is good because it makes your metabolism works faster. If you wonder why, look at it this way. When you have 3 meals a day, your body knows the approximate hourly rate you feed it at. So, it tends to store as many calories as possible until the next meal. On the other hand, if you eat a little every couple of hours, your body gets used to the fact that you are feeding it more often, so it doesn’t need to store any extra calories, and you end up with the same amount of calories as with three normal meals and a faster metabolism.

4. Food

You absolutely need to start eating healthy. Forget about processed food, forget about fast food restaurants and start cooking. First of all, you will always know what you are eating, because you’ve made it and second of all you can’t even imagine how much more calories you are taking with processed and fast food.

Base your diet on a lot of fruit and vegetables, a little meat and dairy products and as little sugar as possible. Chose chicken, turkey and fish and limit your portions to maximum of 150gr of meat per meal. If you can’t eat without bread, chose whole grain bread instead of white bread. Forget about carbonated drinks in total, no excuses. Drink as much water as you can and only freshly squeezed juices and non-sweetened tea.

If you really want a remedy to lose weight – start exercising. You can’t just change your diet and sit down and hope for a change. You need to get up and move, every day.

You don’t need to commit to an hour of vigorous exercises every day, but try to do some kind of workout for at least 10 minutes every day. It could be 10 minutes on a tread mill, or a combination of high and low intensity cardio training. If you want to commit to a longer period and an overall benefit for your body, try for example Bikram Yoga. You can even do it at home alone, as long as you are sure that you are doing it right. Basically, any exercise will help, as long as you exercise at least three to four times a week.

Losing weight is not as hard as you think. Actually the hardest part is to make a decision and stick to it, but once you do that, follow the advices we gave you and you will notice some changes in a week.
