1. Fruit Juices
Fruit Juices are a bad idea, always. They are full of sugar; they contain a lot of additives, since in most of them the real percentage of fruit is less than 10%. They also have flavor additives, and color additives, and they contain as much as 400kcal per bottle. Avoid them under any cost. Make green tea at home and carry it around in a bottle. Or just drink lots of cold natural water.
2. Canned Food
Canned food is a big no-no. It may look simple to prepare and delicious, but it’s usually packed with sugar, artificial sweeteners and additives that will make it remain fresh for some time. Always choose fresh, raw food when you can.
3. Frozen Dinners
Frozen dinners are really serious threat to all the weight watchers, since they do not know that this, so called, low calories canned food, actually contains a lot more salt. Large amounts of sodium are really dangerous for your body.
4. Dried Fruit
Dried fruit contains so much sugar and calories, that they should be illegal for dieters. They have 6 times more calories than the same fruit before becoming dried. Also, you can eat more dried fruit than the fresh fruit, because it seems smaller. But, don’t be tricked into believing it can substitute the real deal.
5. Muesli Bars
Muesli bars are almost as caloric as Snickers. And they contain as much sugar as Mars. So, do not be easily tricked into believing that they are healthy because they contain grains. The truth is that they are packed with oils and additives to make them crispier and tastier.
6. Sports Drinks
Sports drinks are like the fruit juices, because ads make you believe they are a must, healthy, energizing and who knows what else. The truth is that they, in fact, are just colored water, with added sugar and they are not healthy, nor needed. The only people who can benefit from them are the super athletes who burn large amounts of calories during their training, and they need the sugar rush after the training to replenish their body.
7. Fruit Yogurts
Fruit yogurts are somehow becoming more and more popular, because people think they are low fat. Well, don’t trust that because if producers cut on fat, they just add a lot more sugar to promote the flavor.
8. Reduced Fat Peanut Butter
Reduced fat peanut butter is even worse for you, than the regular peanut butter. Actually, if you find organic peanut butter without any additives, that is a good option for a snack on a rise cake, but do not eat more than 2 spoons a day.
These are my tips for the summer, because I don’t like dieting and obsessing about weight. Making healthy choices can actually help you a lot, to lose weight without even knowing it.
