10 Personal Development Blogs That Will Help You Succeed

Personal Development blogs can be used as great motivational tools to enable us to reach our goals and help bring our dreams to life. Some of us seek out such blogs because we are searching for inspiration, or sometimes we just want a jolly good read. Whatever the reason is for reading these blogs, one thing is for sure, the results can be life changing.

Whether it is Antony Robbins, Peter Cohen  or Eckhart Tolle who rocks your boat, the following is a short list of killer blogs, in no particular order, which will help you achieve success.

Some names you may already know, others you may not.  Enjoy.

1. Dragos Roua

I first come across Dragos Roua a couple of years ago on Facebook and I loved his posts straight away.  Since then this Romanian entrepreneur has come on leaps and bounds.  The post that hooked me was ’100 Ways to Screw up Your Life’; I think I could have ticked a few mistakes off the list myself.   I am sure he was he first blogger to use lists to engage the reader.  Or if he wasn’t, he certainly made me think he was.  The thing with Dragos is, whether you like him or not, you get to feel like you know him straight away.   He doesn’t mess around and his blog posts are always a cracking good read.

2. Dumb Little Man

website about life tips

This blog by Jay White is a compilation of startlingly good guest posts by seasoned bloggers and newcomers alike; all providing great tips on dealing with life.  It pretty much covers everything from motivation to food and cooking tips.  Why is it listed here?  Because it’s informative as well as fun, it really is one of a kind and hasn’t lost its buzz since it was first launched.  In fact it is alive with passion.  There really is something for everyone here.

3. Celestine Chua

Celestine is a true angel.  She even looks like one.  Her fresh yet direct take on self-development and conscious living really is a breath of fresh air.  But don’t mistake her compassionate approach for a soft touch; this wonderful young woman has a will of steel and talent to match.   Her blog and website deliver a powerful punch and is for those who want to achieve real excellence in their lives.  Her site includes podcasts, courses and books , she even has an ’Ask Celes a Question’ section, and what’s more, the advice and guidance she offers is spot on.  Great stuff.

4. Irene Conlan

This blog certainly does what it says on the tin.  Irene provides you with a veritable toolbox of goodies to help you find the happiness and success you seek.  And Irene should know all about success.  Not only does she hold a Master’s Degree in Nursing but also a Doctoral Degree in Metaphysics.  She is a mother, a certified Hypnotherapist and an ordained minister as well as a self-help guru.  I think that pretty much covers the spectrum for a caring all-rounder with a deep knowledge of the human psyche.    Her blog has a range of amazing authors constantly updating the site with great content.  This really is a compendium of all you need to succeed.

5. Jack Canfield

Website about spreading ideas in life

For anyone who didn’t drag around Jack Canfield’s co-written hefty tome The Success Principles like I did; then you need to check this guy out.  For me, he really is the granddaddy of Self Improvement.  Long before Kindles were invented this doorstop of a book was my carry around Bible, and his blog still inspires.  Empowering vision board anyone? Chicken Soup for the Soul? Yep, this is where it all started. Truly awesome and still one of the best.

6. Tom Ewer

A bit of a wildcard this one as it is first and foremost about how to ditch your job, but it is also about following your dreams and finding happiness and let’s face it; seeking and finding fulfillment is what self-improvement is all about.  To be successful you must have the determination, vision, passion and drive in the first place.  This blog will show you the way.  Full of handy tips and guidance about getting out there and doing it, I think this blog has a well-deserved place in this list.

7. Steve Aitchinson

The title of Steve’s blog ’Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life’ couldn’t be more apt.  Here is a guy who has been there, done that and worn the tee shirt,  When he was younger, Steve seriously contemplated taking his own life, it was then that he came across Napoleon Hill’s classic ’Think and Grow Rich’ in a second hand bookshop, and the rest, as they say, is history.  Steve is on an ever continuing journey, and in his blog he shares with us the lessons he has learned along with an inspirational photo each day.  There are also contributions from guest bloggers.

8. T/K Coleman

This is another blog which I first came across on Facebook, and I like it because it’s different.  This guy takes you with him on his journey so you learn with him.  The posts are inspirational, life affirming and motivational but with a message too.  Tough Minded Optimism is one of those blogs which is bound to grow into something else.  With a tag line of ’building tough minds for tough times’ this blog is certainly one to watch.

9. Karen Salmansohn

website about life and helping people to succeed

Twitter was the vehicle which brought this no holds barred, ‘tell it like it is’, edgy self-help author to my attention.  There is certainly no beating around the bush with Karen.  She openly flaunts the fact that her blog is ’self-help for people who wouldn’t be caught dead doing self-help’ which kind of lets you know where she is at straight away.  Her blog posts are uplifting and real.  One of her quotes I like the best is ’Attention Girls of All Ages:  You don’t need to get yourself thinner and thinner. You need to get yourself a bigger and bigger sense of all you have to offer’.  You can’t argue with that.

10. Paulo Coelho

Paulo Coelho provides some serious inspiration and thought food for the soul.  Since his classic and timeless best seller The Alchemist was published in 1988, Coelho has continued to top the best seller charts with his soul searching and beautiful stories.  His blog not unsurprisingly provides the same dose of daily meditative inspiration, which truly makes you stop and think for a while.

When it comes to Personal Development, Paulo Coelho is the man of the written word.

But before you go, don’t forget to check out Seth Godin, Fiona Harrold, Robert Holden and Steve Pavlina.

Sorry, I just couldn’t resist.
