Top 5 Nanny Games for Girls

As a nanny you’re probably often trying to think about different ways to entertain kids. It is not easy to engage them in an activity for a longer period of time especially if you are in charge for more than one kid. You have to think about something that will keep their attention long enough so they wouldn’t be bored and go wild. If you have run out of ideas here are top 5 nanny games for girls that will make the babysitting hours pass quickly.

1. Teacher and the Pupils

Girls like to look up to their teacher and babysitters; they see them as smart, kind and beautiful creatures they love to identify with. Start the game by acting like a teacher yourself, sit the children in front of you and give them a task; for example give them a picture book and ask them to paint one of the pages. The kid whose painting is the nicest will be rewarded as becoming a teacher itself. Suggest the child to ask all of you (now you’ll be the pupil) to e.g. sing a song or draw a picture of an animal. Let another child win in this competition and become a teacher in the third round.

2. At the Beauty Parlor

Even little girls enjoy dressing up, so engage them by pretending that you’ve came to the beauty parlor. You can get a makeup kit for little kids, and do their hair, nails, put make-up. To make the game more interesting you can also change their roles; for instance one of the girls can be a beauty parlor’s hairdresser, the other one a manicurist and so on and you can be a client. Just don’t forget to take the make-up and the nail polish off when you are done playing.

3. I Spy….

Now that the weather is nice, take the kids for a walk, and keep them busy by playing I spy game. The game is usually played in the car, but it can be fun in the open too. You already know the rules; while you are walking, on the sight of e.g. a bird say “I spy something that has wings” and wait until they guess what you are talking about. The kid, who guessed, is the next “spy”.

4. Cooking Games

When it comes to nanny games for girls, a cooking game is a sure fire way to keep the girls busy as well as to make them eat. Ask each of the girls to make a sandwich with e. g. peanut butter, fresh tomatoes, ham and eggs etc. You can be the assistant who will prepare the ingredients and help them make the sandwich. Afterwards, cut them into halves and ask every child to taste them. The best chef will be rewarded a chocolate bar (of course, every child will get one).

5. Doll Dress up Game

Remember when you were a little girl? I bet you’ve enjoy playing with your dolls. So why don’t you organize e.g. a tea party for your little protégé’s dolls? The dolls can be dressed up as princesses, fairies, movie stars or cartoon heroines. This will engage the girls for a long period of time. If the weather is fine, you can make the game more interesting by taking it out to the garden and inviting the kids from the neighborhood.

The suggested nanny games for girls are fun and can be educational too. It wouldn’t surprise me if you find yourself enjoying them even more than the kids. I know I did.
