Ways People Cope With Stress – 7 Tips

Not all days are supposed to be inspiring, exciting and fun. There are those dull days that never seem to end because of the amount of stress surrounding them. But you still need to get through those days to get to the better ones and find the easiest way to cope with stress.

How can you get going with those tasks you don’t feel like doing? How can you release stress and move on with your life? Here are 7 easy tips:

1. Don’t Over Think It

Get going instead. The more you think about the stressful work the more boring it seems to be in your mind. And so it becomes harder and harder to get started and to get things done. So try to think very little about it. Just make a decision to start doing it, get up and go do it right away.

2. Make a Deal With Yourself and Set an Alarm for 15 Minutes

Whenever you feel like stress is catching up with you, just make a deal to just spend 15 minutes outside, reading a book or cleaning the desk. Set an alarm and say to yourself that you only have to do this work for 15 minutes. After that you will feel at least a bit better and readier to do that boring activity.

3. Yoga

A lot of people have discovered the benefits of yoga on our mind and bodies and they practice it more often when in stressful situations.

4. Reward Yourself After the Stress is Over

When you are done with your task then reward yourself for putting up with all that stressful work and getting over it. It should be some cute reward that will remind you that you can overcome stress easier, like scented candles with mint/lemon smell that has calming effect.

5. Meditation

This seems to be a great help for lots of business people exposed to stress from day to day. Stop multi-tasking and become connected with your body just for one minute. The benefits are multiple. For starters, it will help you connect yourself to the present moment without projecting your future plans that cause stress and without revising your old mistakes. Doing one thing at a time may sound easy but for modern man it’s a real challenge. Once you accept the challenge, meditation can help you keep it going. Your stress levels will lower significantly.

6. Stop Negative Thoughts

Why is your glass always half empty? Well, it’s time to stop thinking like that and view life from more positive viewpoint. Be an optimist and your heart, mind and body will be grateful for that.

7. Straighten Your Back Posture and the Mind Will Follow

It’s funny, yet true what good posture can do for you. Feeling bad is the result of your poor posture. Try to strengthen your back, stand straight and the smile will follow.
