What To Do Before Bed To Have A Better Morning

Mornings are hard enough on their own. Why not make your mornings easier by doing these tricks before bed. Read more to find out how.

What you do at night before you go to bed has a massive impact on your morning, and you may not even realize it. When it comes to the chaotic mornings before your busy day, there are life hacks that should be done before bed to lessen the craziness and stress of the mornings. What you do before bed has an impact on your mood and how rejuvenated you will wake up feeling from your previous night’s sleep.

As much as this is an article on how to have a better morning, it is also about how to have a better night’s sleep. The reality of it is that the better the sleep you have, the better the morning you will have.

The two are interwoven; bad sleep leads to a bad morning and good sleep means a good morning. However, there are additional things that can be done to make your morning easier. Here’s some of the things you can do to have a better morning.

Write

A good strategy for having a great morning is to make a list of what you have to do the next day before going to sleep. You will find that it’s much easier to relax and sleep once it’s all organized.

It is also good to write down anything that’s on your mind because it’s like letting all the bad vibes out and all the good ones in. You will feel much lighter clearing your mind, which is optimal for the next day and a good night’s sleep. Even if all the thoughts swirling around your head are positive, writing them down is still a great idea as you will feel more relaxed and have a clearer mind.

Reflect

This is very similar to writing. However, when reflecting, you are almost supposed to meditate and think about the positive, but not overthink. By doing a quick reflection of your day, and focusing on the positive and what you are grateful for, you will feel much more at ease.

Once you have done this, try to relax and stay in this positive mind frame. If you have a rough day, realize that it was bad, but quickly make it vanish by focusing on the positive and what you are grateful for. Once you have done this, just relax and stay calm.

No electronics

According to research from various scientists and agencies, any kind of screen time results in nothing positive. The lights from your phone mimic the brightness of the sun, which makes your brain think that it can’t sleep since it’s still light out. This means that your brain stops producing melatonin, which tells your body when it is time to sleep and wake up, which will throw off your system and lead to various distractions.

No work

Work is work. We do what we have to do for work, and many people do not like their job. Working before bed is a bad idea as it affects your sleep, thus affecting your morning. Before you go to bed, you should feel relaxed, not stressed, and should not be focused on work. Save that for the morning when you are at work as it will provide you with clarity and fresh eyes for work.

Prep work

All chefs prep before they cook for their dinner service prep because it means less stress, less time spent on prepping and less work when they are in a rush to get things done.

This also applies to us in our everyday lives. Set up your breakfast as much as possible by taking out what you need and prepping what you need. That way, in the morning, all you have to do is make it really quickly. Another great way to prep is by setting up the coffee machine or even just taking out the dishes you will need.

Packing your bag for work the night before and even your lunch is also very wise as it’s a lot less work for you to do in the morning and it will save you time. Picking an outfit and laying it out somewhere for the next day is also a great idea. It takes so much time to choose an outfit in the morning; by choosing it at night you’re not only saving time but you also won’t be in a rush.

Prepping everything you will need for the next day while you are relaxed will take less time than doing it in the morning while you are rushing and are not relaxed. Also, organizing yourself this much may help to make you feel more relaxed.

Exercise

As much as exercising in the morning is better for you, exercising or walking at night is also a great idea as it will clear your head, make you feel happier, tired, refreshed, relaxed and it will also allow for the bad vibes to be sweated out and the good vibes to come on in. Even if you don’t do a crazy workout, but you go for a walk or stroll, you will be much happier and more relaxed.

All of these methods will help to make your mornings great as you will wake up feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. If you have anymore suggestions for how to have a better morning and sleep, feel free to share!
