What to Do for Fun on the Weekend

Not sure what to do for fun on the weekend? Here are a couple of ideas to make this weekend one that you'll remember.

There comes a moment when all of us desperately need to do something new, interesting and unusual. We spend the whole week working, stressing ourselves and doing ordinary routine things and when the weekend comes we are simply out of ideas or perhaps even too tired to think of something amusing.

Most of the times we end up staying at home or just walking around the city center and going to the movies. Of course, it would be easy to just go and get a couple of airplane tickets and fly to a place we’ve never been before, but it’s not always financially possible. So, what to do for fun on the weekend? Take a look at our suggestions and try them out!

1. Cuddle Yourself in a Hot Spring

Have you ever been to a hot spring? Just for you information, a hot spring is formed when the geothermally heated groundwater emerges from the Earth’s crust, creating natural pools. When the steam comes out through the water, it forms sulfuric acid, which then dissolves the surrounding rocks full of minerals into a muddy clay.

Why not immerse yourself in some natural hot spring pool, and cuddle yourself with bubbles, mineral mud and healing clay? All you need is a swimming suit and a bathrobe. You will enjoy bizarre pools and amazing natural formations around you, while your skin, body and mind will greatly benefit from it. While bubbles pleasantly entice your senses, you can rub the clay mud over your body and go for a walk or lie down under the sun. Your skin will be purified and exfoliated and all the impurities will be drawn away.

In the evening you will be amazed by the superb night view of steamy, bubbling pools and happy for the way you’ve spent your day.

2. Get a New Lease on Life – Explore Flea Markets and Antique Shops

Are you tired of your old furniture and of the way your house looks? Would you like to add a new detail and a new color to your rooms? Well, just by going through flea markets and antique shops, you can make your house look exactly as you want it, while saving a lot of money. You will be surprised how just a few small pieces can transform it completely. Changing the furniture arrangement and adding new pieces, colors and lights to your home will give you positive energy and refresh your life.

Flea markets and antique shops are great fun to explore and can be incredible sources of new ideas easy to realize. If you find a shabby old table that would perfectly fit in your kitchen, you can always repaint it, and if you find a new lamp shade, it can make a big difference to the overall atmosphere. Rummage through old objects, pillows and paintings. You will surely find something that will revive your home, making it more pleasant and fresh.

3. Make an Unusual Trip to the Countryside

Instead of making the same old barbecue and digesting it lazily on the grass or doing the usual countryside shopping, why not transform your trip into something completely new?

Take advantage of the springtime and learn how collect edible wild herbs. It can be a fun activity and you will always have the pleasure of preparing your own healthy and beneficial herb potages, salads, omelettes and jams.

It will certainly take you some time to get acquainted with all of the plants, but you can always find someone to help you and start from gathering just the most common ones. In springtime, nature provides us with a bounty of healthy and edible herbs such as dandelion, nettles, chicory, wild asparagus, black raspberries, strawberries and others. Gathering these herbs will revive your spirit, while eating them will greatly benefit your body. But be careful and never eat any plant unless you are absolutely sure of its identity.
