Naturally dry skin may sometimes become even more irritated and scaly if overexposed to wind, sun, cold whether or deficiency of certain vitamins.

Regular beauty products are often not sufficient enough to maintain it hydrated, but many natural nutrients may be of great help!

5 awesome home remedies for dry skin on the face include bananas, avocados, apricots, oatmeal, and Aloe Vera gel. You can use these fruits alone or combined between them, as well as with other additional ingredients such as argan, almond or coconut oil, egg yolk and honey.

The procedure is easy:

Mash the fruits, add 1 or 2 teaspoons of oil, 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of honey. Steam your face to open up the pores, apply the mask, then lie down and relax from 15 to 20 minutes.

Wash the mask off with lukewarm water and use a moisturizer to enhance the mask effects.

1. Banana

Banana peel contains a huge amount of elements that are great allies of our skin. It is rich in antioxidants (lutein) and minerals (potassium), as well as vitamins B and C, which all contribute to our skin’s well-being, helping it stay smooth, supple and silky.

These nutrients encourage our skin to restore naturally, while improving its overall texture and tone. Banana peel also has exceptional soothing properties that are useful in relieving skin inflammation caused by dryness, and recovering its softness, moisture and elasticity.

2. Avocado

Avocado contains very rich and extremely nutrient oil that is easily absorbed by the skin. It is rich in vitamins A, D and E and minerals (potassium), as well as lecithin, proteins, beta-carotene and a large number of fatty acids.

Avocado’s oil is also high in sterolins, which reduce age spots and sun damage signs, and help soften and moisturize skin. In conclusion, avocado has great emolliating, hydrating and rejuvenating properties!

3. Apricot

Apricot contains many important ingredients that are essential for our skin’s health. It is rich in iron, calcium, beta-carotene and antioxidants such as vitamins A and C, and contains 40 % of oil with identical properties as almond oil.

Apricot has great hydrating and beneficial properties: it relieves sunburn and itching and at the same time revitalizes, soothes and brightens dry skin tissue. It helps skin maintain its elasticity, suppleness and luminosity.

4. Oatmeal

Oatmeal contains polysaccharides, omega-3 fatty acids, proteins, as well as silicon and other minerals. It is also rich in antioxidants known as avenanthramides and beta-glucon. All these compounds are essential for the health and the vitality of our skin cells.

Many moisturizing lotions and other beauty products contain oatmeal for its superb benefits to the skin. Oatmeal reduces inflammation, prevents dryness and the formation of flaky and scaly patches, and maintains the skin’s natural barrier function.

5. Aloe Vera Gel

Aloe Vera gel is soothing, anti-inflammatory, brightening, nourishing and rejuvenating. It contains 18 amino acids, as well as vitamins A, C, F, B, niacin and traces of Vitamin B12, which all work together to soothe and soften dry skin, prone to peeling, flaking and cracking.

Aloe Vera is an excellent moisturizer that maintains skin soft and luminous. It relieves heat caused by sunburn and nourishes skin cells with important nutrients such as vitamins E and C. It is also helpful in removing dead skin cells and preventing age signs.
