It’s all lies! We’re busting some of the most prevalent sex myths once and for all! Read through all 10 and see where you stand when it comes to sexual intelligence!
While some of the following myths are pretty ridiculous, some – not so much. Actually, prior to doing some research I have to admit that even I thought some of these ‘facts’ – were in fact – true. Some of these are quite tough to crack – see for yourself!
1. Men Think about, and Want Sex, all Day, Every Day
Right, well, maybe they do if we’re talking about ‘men’ around the age of 16 or 17 who’ve just had their first experiences and are now completely sex crazed. You hear all these crazy statistics like ‘Men think about sex 283 times a day!’ and you’re like WHOA! But how do you really put an entire gender in one basket.
Yes, the thought crosses their minds and yes there are times they’re in the mood to get some. How often these times come differ very much from guy to guy and are dependent on his age, responsibilities, character and many other things.
2. The Pull-out Technique is a Valid Form of Contraception
It’s so not. In fact it’s the worst possible form of birth control (if you can even call it that). The statistics say that around one in five couples who use solely this method as their birth control will end up pregnant over the course of one year.
Getting pregnant is very much possible, even after he’s pulled his Willy out before ejaculating. Not all men can even recognize the exact moment when to do so. Even if they can – the pre-ejaculate fluid that gets released before the orgasm also contains sperm, and enough of it to get the job done.
3. Woman Can’t Get Pregnant During Their Period
Yes they can. Shocker! What happens is that sperm can actually ‘survive’ inside the vagina for several days. So, theoretically, if you have sex during your period it’s possible to get pregnant after it’s done.
4. Birth Control Pills are Completely Effective from the Moment You Start Taking Them

Actually, it might take up to a whole month for them to have full effect. Doctors usually even recommend using a second form of birth control when first getting on the pill for a two week period (or even longer).
5. Men Gave a Stronger Desire for Sex than Women
This kind of thinking is archaic I’d say but somehow it’s still around. Well, somewhat at least. But, this most certainly is not true. Sex drive is something completely individual and it has little to do with gender. Yes, the way we think about it may be different, more/less frequent or whatever, but the desire is there. And depending on the person – it can be pretty intense! Yes, women get their hard on too!
6. Only Women Can Have Multiple Orgasms

Well, first of, not even all women can – only about 30 percent. Even less if we’re talking about actually having multiple orgasms on regular bases. However, some men can have them too! These men can have two (or even more) orgasms during sex without losing wood.
7. If a Woman Did not Orgasm She Didn’t Enjoy the Sex
Since not all women can even experience vaginal orgasms (most need some sort of stimulation of the clitoris) it’s common sense that not all women come during sex.
However it’s absolutely untrue these women don’t enjoy the act itself. It’s like with (most) guys it’s all about chasing that moment you’ll burst with pleasure (literally), but, with women the whole thing can be very sensual and pleasuring – even if they don’t get there.
Now I’m not saying men don’t enjoy sex as much as women here – I’m only saying it’s not all about the big O.
8. Drinking Lots of Soda Can Help Prevent Pregnancy
This is more like an urban legend. But no matter how ridiculous it sounds – people will believe anything if they want to believe it. The logic behind this is that the ingredients that are in these drinks can lower a man’s sperm count. This however is definitely not true.
9. Oral Sex isn’t as Serious as Vaginal or Anal Sex

Many people don’t even consider oral sex to be sex. But it does count as sex. And yes, you can get an STD only through having oral sex.
10. Size/shape/girth Matters
No, not really. The main thing that matters and can make or break you as a lover is the technique. It’s all about the magic, not the wand!
So, that’s it – these are the sex myths that really needed to be cleared up. How’d you do? Found out something new? Let us know in the comments below!
