Ok, we all know that vitamins are good for our skin. Omega 3 acids are great as well. However, there are other things that can do wonders for your skin, the things you never thought could be any good. Check them out.

Would you believe if I told you that bacteria can be good for your skin? And it’s not just bacteria; check out these 6 strange things that are good for your skin.

1. Bacteria

I did mention them, now I have to explain. There are approximately ten times more bacteria on your skin than there are skin cells. Those bacteria are what keeps your skin look normal and good. Any misbalance, whether the bacteria count goes up or down, can lead to skin problems.

This basically means that you shouldn’t clean your skin too often. Showering more than twice a day and using strong antibacterial soaps and cleansers can lead to destruction of more bacteria than needed. This can result in dry skin or even eczemas.

2. Doctor Fish

Doctor Fish or Nibble Fish is a common name of two types of fish – Garra rufa and Cyprinion macrostomum. What do they do? They nibble off your skin disease.

Believe it or not, this is quite an ancient practice that has been regaining its popularity since 2006. There are fish spas all over the world equipped with huge tanks and pools filled with doctor fish. They cure psoriasis and eczemas and all you have to do is sit in the pool and let them slowly eat the infection away. It is quite simple as long as you can psychologically handle it.

3. Cocoa

There are not a lot of things as amazing as a cup of hot cocoa on a cold day. The first sip just brings a smile to your face, but it also brings a couple of benefits to your skin.

You can find and read a cocoa related research on the internet that explains how 23 women were given one cup of cocoa every day over the period of three months. The results showed that, at the end of that period, their skin was smoother, softer and less prone to being damaged by UV rays. Now, I don’t know if that’s really true, but I’d say it’s a perfect excuse to enjoy a cup of cocoa every day.

4. Salt

Everyone says that salt is bad for you. Too much of it causes high blood pressure, poor vision and increases the risk of a heart attack. Still, salt is a great first aid for your skin.

This is a bit of an old fashioned remedy, but it actually does work. Every girl has at least once burned her hand on a stove or while handling a hot oven dish. As long as you don’t burn yourself to the point where your skin actually ruptures and you have an open wound, salt can help you heal. Just sprinkle some salt over the burn and leave it there. It will absorb the heat and help your skin heal faster.

5. Goat Milk

Most of us use cow milk on daily basis. What most people don’t know is that goat milk is very good for their health in general, especially their skin.

Goat milk is richer in fat, calcium and proteins than cow milk. Drinking it, as well as using organic products that contain goat milk, can increase your skin’s natural resistance towards the elements. It is also a perfect remedy for dry skin and it can help your skin regain its natural glow.

6. Hot and Cold Showers

You might have heard how showering in hot and cold waves can be very good for your heart. Well, it can also be good for your skin.

Cold water is actually a lot better for your skin than hot water. Still, you can’t really shower with cold water only, so you might as well give this technique a try. It increases your skin’s natural defenses towards sun and wind and helps it stay moisturized.
