I am passionate about dessert, and it shows! As a dessert lover my whole life, I needed to find a way to make my favorite treats healthier so I didn't have to eat them only in moderation. When it comes to chocolate, I want to eat it every day!

Utilize spices, which are often neglected in recipes. Adding a little cinnamon and powdered ginger or a pinch of cardamom can up the flavor and sweetness of a dessert without increasing the sugar or calories.

4.2 Cake Over Steak

Exclusive tip, how to or recommendation for YouQueen readers?

Try new recipes from blogs, cookbooks or food magazines. Every time I try a new recipe and step outside of my comfort zone, I walk away with a new cooking technique, flavor pairing or ideas for a new recipe based on what I made. It's how I make sure I'm always growing as a home cook, and it keeps me inspired.

5. Yolanda Gampp – How To Cake It

5.1 YolandaGamppBurgerCake

You in 7 descriptive words?

Emotional, Nostalgic, Neat Freak, Whimsy, Precise, Fun-Loving, Organized

What is that “special touch” what makes your blog/work different/unique/authentic?

I’m a self-taught decorator, and I think that helps me to think outside the box. I don’t worry as much about the right way to do something and focus on what works for me. It’s really helped me hone my own style and feel comfortable with my caking process.

5.3 Yolanda

Exclusive tip, how to or recommendation for YouQueen readers?

Always look for creative ways to use leftovers. When I finish a caking project, I always refrigerate or freeze the leftover cakes and buttercream, so that if I’m going to an event or party, I can always pull them out and create a new dessert. A mini mega cake or petit fours are my go to. Even though it might not be sculpted into a Shark Cake, it still tastes just as delicious and people really appreciate that.

YouQueen's Question: What would be a must-try recipe from your blog?

My Key Lime Mega Cake I honestly think it’s an easy recipe with not that many components and anyone can make it. It’s rich but it’s balanced out with such a nice tartness that it never feels overly sweet.

6. Sharon Lachendro– What The Fork Food Blog

6.1. Sharon Lachendro

You in 7 descriptive words?

Coffee addict and sprinkle obsessed. Fluent in sarcasm.

What is that “special touch” what makes your blog/work different/unique/authentic?

I work really hard to create gluten-free (and often dairy-free) baked goods that anyone would love, not just those who are gluten free. I want my food to taste just as amazing as it's gluten counterpart.

6.2. Sharon Lachendro

Exclusive tip, how to or recommendation for YouQueen readers?

Baking gluten-free can be tricky – you have to really get a feel for how the different flours work. The first few recipes you try might not come out the way you want. Just keep at it and you'll soon be reaping the delicious results.

YouQueen's Question: What would be a must-try recipe from your blog?

My Gluten Free Funfetti Cake is the most popular recipe on my blog. It's perfect for celebrating birthdays or anytime you're in the mood for a fun and festive cake!

What is that “special touch” what makes your blog/work different/unique/authentic?

My blog is just a true representation of what's baking in my kitchen. I try not to create recipes because they're trendy or for clicks. If you see it on the blog, we ate it in our kitchen yesterday.

7.2.Bridget Edwards – Bake at 350

Always bake cookies on parchment paper. I won't bake without it.

8.1. The Sugar Hit

You in 7 descriptive words?

Hungry, lazy, funny, chocolate-covered, happy, sleepy, bright.

What is that “special touch” what makes your blog/work different/unique/authentic?

My blog is unique in that it's so specific to me, and whatever my particular craving is on the day. One moment it's a cookie-covered cake, and the next it's a breakfast burger with a soft, oozing egg on it. There are no rules when it comes to my kitchen and my blog, and I think that freedom and fun is what keeps it interesting!

8.2. The Sugar Hit

Exclusive tip, how to or recommendation for YouQueen readers?

I have three kitchen tips that I like to give to my friends:

1. As Julia Childs said, never apologize. If you make a mistake, just don't mention it and likely no one will notice.

2. A wine bottle is a perfectly good rolling pin.

3. Always eat dessert.

YouQueen's Question: What would be a must-try recipe from your blog?

The must-try recipe from my blog is my Brownie Cake with Rose Persian Fairy Floss! It's delicious, so easy to make, and so much fun. Eat it after dinner, or at a picnic, or in the middle of the night. It's rich and gooey and super-chocolatey and the fairy floss adds whimsy and fun with almost no effort.

9. Sweetness & Bite

9.1 Sweetness & Bite

You in 7 descriptive words?

Creative. Passionate. Sprinkle Addict. Hilariously Honest. Oh, and Ginger.

What is that “special touch” what makes your blog/work different/unique/authentic?

One of the comments I get most often on my blog is that my readers really enjoy my writing style and sense of humor. I love helping people with their baking and cake decorating, but I also want them to have fun doing it, so I write my tutorials and recipes as though I’m standing next to my readers, in their kitchen, helping them with their creations. And I’m more than happy to make fun of myself and describe it in brutally amusing detail when I mess something up.

9.2 Sweetness & Bite

Exclusive tip, how to or recommendation for YouQueen readers?

If you see a recipe or cake style that you’d love to try, just give it a go. Don’t be intimidated and think that you’ll never be good enough, no one becomes good at something without trying – clichéd but true! And don’t be ashamed if you fail, you can have a cry and throw frosting at the wall, but make sure you laugh about it afterward. After all, it’s just food.

YouQueen's Question: What would be a must-try recipe from your blog?

My gluten free cake recipes are incredibly popular, but my Three Ingredient Chocolate Mousse is a must try – it’s a super simple way to get a rich and fluffy chocolate fix.

10.2 Life, Love and Sugar

Exclusive tip, how to or recommendation for YouQueen readers?

Baking should be fun! If you’re just getting started, find recipes and tutorials that inspire you and challenge yourself with each new thing you try. Then dig in and enjoy your hard work!

YouQueen's Question: What would be a must-try recipe from your blog?

One of my recent favorites is my Oreo Brookie Cake. It combines so many great things into one cake and even though it’s totally over the top, it manages to be so good you can’t help but take another bite!
