7 Delicious Breakfast Meals You Can Prepare the Night Before

Want to eat healthy but don’t have time for breakfast? Check out these breakfast options that you can prepare ahead of time so you never have to skip a meal anymore!

Breakfast – it is indeed the most important meal of the day. A good meal in the morning keeps our energy levels and metabolism stable throughout the day. However, most of us usually rush in the morning, leaving us no choice but to skip it and end up pigging out at lunch.

On the other hand, we may also end up grabbing a quick bite from the neighborhood bake shop, but we usually end up with unhealthy or calorie laden choices.

Does it seem impossible to have a healthy breakfast every day? You are not alone. Not really! You can prepare healthy some of these meals the day before, which you can take out and eat even as you rush to work.

#1: Fruit smoothies

Undoubtedly the easiest thing you can prepare in the morning, but some of us do not even have the luxury of time to pop ingredients in a blender.

The solution? Do this the night before.

Simply mix fruits, veggies and dairy of your choice inside the blender and start blending away. Store the drink inside the fridge and simply grab it on your way out the door.

You can store the smoothie inside a shaker cup or blender bottle. This allows you to easily mix your smoothie before drinking it.

If you are still a fan of freshly blended smoothies in the morning, you can shorten your preparation time by cutting and preparing all the ingredients the night before.

#2: Overnight oats

This recipe is simply oats soaked overnight in any liquid of your choice and topped with your favorite flavors. The common mixture is one part raw rolled oats and one part milk or yogurt. I usually add non-fat milk, but there are also days when I use soy milk, too.

The oats serve as the base, and then you can add any topping that you like. Fruits and nuts work well as toppings.

I personally love sliced mangoes and dried apricots. Also, some of my friends prefer to replace milk with Greek yogurt. Again, you can mix and match recipes to find out which works best for you.

#3: Mini omelets

Mini omelets are simply egg omelets, but miniature in size. They are a great source of protein, and you can customize them by adding meat or vegetable ingredients. You can actually create a batch twice a week and refrigerate them. All you have to do is microwave them in the morning.

Instead of frying the egg omelets, you also have the option of baking them and turning them into muffins. nuts of your choice.

#4: Yogurt and fruit cup

This is a very simple recipe that you can do over the weekend. Layer thick yogurt with fruit, nuts, granola or anything else that tickles your fancy inside a reusable cup or mason jar.

Do not be afraid to experiment with flavors. You can prepare a week’s worth of yogurt cups, saving you the need to prepare every night.

#5: Boil some eggs

Take time each week to boil some eggs, which you can keep unpeeled inside the refrigerator. When it’s time to go, you can simply take one egg and have an instant protein meal.

#6: Breakfast casseroles

Prepare a casserole dish a week ahead, and store them in individual containers. In the morning, take out one container and pop it in the microwave for a meal on the go.

To prevent burnout, try different casserole recipes for each week.

#7: Overnight toasts

Do you love your French toasts but find yourself pressed for time in the morning? You can make them the night before. Just follow your favorite French toast recipe and pop them in the fridge when you are done. You can actually make batches, since you can store them for up to three days.

Take a toast or two out in the morning and enjoy it as is or add your favorite toppings. Some toppings I love include cream cheese, caramel as well as blueberries and cream.

Taking the time each night (or every Sunday night for that matter) to prepare breakfast can do a lot of good for you! Having instant breakfast around helps make sure that you no longer skip breakfast because of the morning rush.

Likewise, you can avoid making wrong food choices that you would otherwise do when eating out, and you also save money because you no longer have to buy food on the way to work!

What about you, do you have any overnight recipes that you want to share?
