Positive Life Through Positive Action in 9 Proactive Steps

Everything doesn't always come easy and no matter how naturally optimistic you are- the glass isn't ALWAYS half full! Still, there is always something you can do to make your outlook more positive and turn the frown upside down!

Life is supposed to be hard. Not everything is achieved easily, and as the expression goes: There is no shortcut to any goals worth reaching. I agree with this expression to a certain point, because I believe that there are some shortcuts in the shape of positive attitude. You still have a road to go from point A to point B, but with a smile, and eyes on the prize, you might get there faster than the pessimist. Here are some tips that can help you to gain and maintain the positive life outlook.

1. Find and Keep Your Focus

In order to be positive, you really need to have your eyes set on the prize. There will be some roadblocks on your way, but by having focus, you will overcome them a whole lot easier.

2. Surround Yourself by Optimists

You won’t have a positive life with a negative outlook. If you surround yourself by positive people then you have a bigger chance of becoming positive as well. Optimism does go viral. If your friends always perceive glass as half full instead of half empty, you will have more chances of being and feeling luckier than the people surrounded by those who only think about things that could go wrong.

3. Make a Task Plan

Once you know your goal, you can work on a task plan. Break your goal into 10 small steps and when you achieve any of those, give yourself a break from work and a reward. You deserved it. After priding yourself for every step of the way, you will feel better and more confident about your plan.

4. Stop Comparisons With Other People

You are unique and comparing yourself to other and their own uniqueness will and can make things utterly complicated. You need to stop watching what other people are doing and focus on your goal.

5. Appreciate Your Family and Friends

By appreciating your beloved ones, you will feel a lot better about yourself and by accepting them as they are with all their flaws and virtues is crucial step in understanding that no one is perfect, but we are all unique and worthy of love. And no matter how bad you mess up at work, your friends and family will always be there for you.

6. Meditation

It is great what meditation can do for you. You can do it anywhere, anytime and you do not need anything but your own mind and body to help you achieve calmness

7. Exercise

Even though sometimes when you are feeling blue the exercising is the last thing on your mind that can actually help you substantially and get you out of the depression faster than anything else.

8. Write

If you write down all the problems and negative thoughts you have, it will be easier for you to understand when these thoughts come by and what you can do to stop them when they appear.

9. Get Help

If you feel like you’ve tried everything and still cannot reach that positive life outlook, do not hesitate to seek help. You shouldn’t be embarrassed because the professional help will show you how to discover the real cause of your stress and how to work on getting better.
