A world of trust vs. A world of no trust

Imagine your relationship, and picture it to be in a world of no trust. Every “I love you”, promise to do something together soon, the location of where your partner is, what they are doing, and who they are with, means absolutely nothing to you.

It’s not a pretty picture to be in a relationship with no trust. It would be a relationship of doubt, broken promises, heartache, stress, anxiety, sadness, worry, misery, pain, disappointment, and so much more.

I can guarantee you, a relationship with no trust is one that is not worth having. It is a relationship that will have you constantly wondering and questioning everything. It will leave you with trust issues which may carry over into future relationships and will leave you feeling empty.

Now, imagine your relationship again, and imagine it in a world where you trust your partner completely and with anything and everything. With every compliment, sweet reassurance, a sign of affection, answer, and every word. In this world, your trust feels completely validated and nourished.

This is the best relationship to be in, you and your partner trust one and other completely, and as a result, your relationship has flourished due to your trust. You find you feel happy, reassured, in love, excited, and connected with your partner. This is sheer proof of the importance of trusting your partner.

Now that you are done the quiz, add up your score to find out how strong the trust in your partner and relationship is.

The higher your number is (50 is max), the stronger the trust in your relationship and partner is! Meaning you and your significant other both know the importance of trust. Hopefully, you can see and feel the benefits that come with having trust in your relationship daily. Congratulations, it is a great thing to have complete trust in your partner and the relationship.

If your number is low, that means there isn’t a strong foundation of trust in your partner and relationship. It also means that you and your partner both need to either discuss and improve yourselves by admitting how you feel, and what you both do to diminish your trust.

Or, sadly, you both need to end things and start fresh. Sorry to say this, but if you and your partner can’t strengthen your trust, then you will be in a horrible relationship that will end badly.

How trust is broken

The importance of trust is realized by all. However, some people come to this realization when trust has once been lost. As much as it is important to know the importance of trusting your partner, and what it will do for your relationship, it is also important to be aware of how you can lose trust.

A big trust breaker would be lying. As obvious as this may sound, it is a hard one to not do as many people take comfort or are stuck in the habit of telling little white lies. It seems that many people lie to their partner in order to spare their feelings, avoid tough conversations, or because they have something to hide.

Cheating, breaking promises, sneaking around, or hiding things are also the acts that can diminish the trust in your relationship. Although you may think you are being sneaky, your partner will be able to clue in and read you. When they do read you, they will tell that you are acting differently and that something is up.

Lastly, being on and off or hot and cold about things you used to be so sure of will eliminate trust in a relationship. Think about it, if your partner were to keep flip flopping on their feelings about something, you wouldn’t know what to believe. You would begin to have trust issues about whatever they were hot and cold about, and many other things in your relationship too.

How to nurture trust

Knowing the importance of it is a stepping stone that leads you into a forest that you and your partner should be taking care of. In order to let your trust grow, you need to feed it by communicating, being open about everything, expressing yourselves, being realistic, honest, loving, caring, sharing things, not judging each other, and to then continue to do so.

After you do all of that, you will find that the forest you two have been taking care of, has become lush with life and is continuing to grow and become even stronger.

When you give your partner reasons to trust you, and you both learn to trust each other, your trust will grow drastically and will become a massive foundation in your relationship. This will allow the both of you to grow and connect on completely new levels.

If you can think of anything else to say about the importance of trusting your partner, feel free to share!
