We can’t always go out and have a good time. The cold weather is here, the holidays put a damper on our funds…there are so many reasons just to stay inside. The good news is, there are plenty of things you can do inside that will make you glad you stayed in! Here are eight fun things you can do at home with your boyfriend (without any fuss!).
#1 Cook Together
I’m not the best cook on the planet, but there is nothing sexier than a man who can cook! In fact, even if your boyfriend can’t cook, just watching him try is guaranteed to make you feel all warm inside.
Dust off your recipe books and pick something out. You and your guy will have a lot of fun trying some new food (and turning up the heat).
#2 Play Video Games
I know a lot of women who aren’t into video games, but they’re really missing out! Men seriously love killing things on X-Box and if you can bring yourself to sit down and learn the controls, you’ll see that this is a fun way to spend the day at home with your boyfriend!
Even if you don’t have the coordination (like me), or video games give you a headache (also like me), you and your guy can have a lot of fun playing apps on Kindle or on your phone! Challenge each other to Tetris or Fruit Ninja. You’ll both be laughing and having fun in no time.
#3 Shower
Do you want something fun to do with your boyfriend, and still something sexy that’ll distract you from the snow outside? Shower together.
Many couples get into a routine and forget that the little things can be the most fun. Taking a long hot shower together will not only reignite those sparks, but it’s also a great excuse to climb back under the covers to get warm.
#4 Picnic Indoors
One of the most fun things to do at home with your boyfriend is to have an indoor picnic. Now, I’ll admit, it sounds pretty cheesy (no pun intended). Still, an indoor picnic is a great way to spend the day! You and your guy can choose a movie to watch together, move the coffee table over, lay down a blanket and raid the fridge.
The great thing about having an indoor picnic is that you don’t have to worry about ants.
#5 Board Games
If you really can’t handle the video games, and you’re looking for something fun to keep you both entertained for a long time, I recommend dusting off the old board games. I know you have Scrabble or Monopoly hidden somewhere in the depths of your junk closet (every household does).
Turn the radio up, pull up a couple of chairs and see who wins!
Of course, if you really want to have some fun, grab a deck of cards and place your bets. Poker is a fun way to spend an evening at home with your boyfriend and you can bet anything from who does the dishes to who gets control of the TV remote the rest of the night.
Of course, a few hands into the game and you’ll forget all about the TV, especially if you decide to play strip poker.
#6 Home Improvement
Sometimes the best way to spend time together is to do a project together. I dated a guy who loved to sit down and go through old pictures and help me scrapbook things. He genuinely enjoyed sharing memories that way with me (plus, we was very artistically creative).
Not all guys are arts and crafts kind of guys, but most men do enjoy getting their hands dirty (it’s an alpha thing). Try some kind of home improvement. If you own your home, you and your boyfriend can have fun painting the living room (yes, painting together is really fun).
If you rent, then redecorate! Now is the time to move furniture around, hang up new paintings or new curtains and change things around together. Trust me, he’ll really appreciate you asking his opinion (and he’ll love showing off his manly muscles as he moves the couch around).
#7 Read Aloud to Each Other
Probably my most memorable night with my ex-husband is the time I read an entire novel aloud to him. It started out innocently enough. He was sitting on the couch playing a video game and I was reading a novel.
Then I giggled.
Immediately he wondered what was so funny in the book. I ended up explaining the scene and reading the line, and he laughed a little too. A little while later, I giggled again.
It was too much for him to take. For the next eight hours I read the entire book aloud to him as he got up and made me coffee and warm tea (because I started to lose my voice). It was silly, and sweet, and romantic. Well worth the inability to talk the next day.
#8 Body Paint
Another fun thing to do at home with your boyfriend is try body painting. That’s right, body paint. Many adult stores (and online stores) have body paints to use in bed. Of course, you and your guy don’t have to get naked to have fun, you just need to make a game out of it.
Take turns painting each other’s face and trying to guess what is being painted. If you get the neon colors, or the glow in the dark body paint, they look fantastic under a blacklight! If you don’t have body paint, pull out the chocolate syrup. It’s messy, but it’s fun!
The point is, you don’t have to spend a lot of money (or go out in the cold) to have a good time, there are plenty of fun things to do at home with your boyfriend!
