What To Look For In A Guy – 10 Qualities Of A Keeper

What to look for in a guy if you are looking for a husband material? Check out our tips and don’t waste any more of your time being with the wrong guys.

There is no doubt that there are some incredible men out there. The problem, sometimes, can be picking them out of the sea of wrong guys. Some guys are not ready to be in a relationship with someone long-term.

There is nothing wrong with that when you both agree that you don’t want something serious, but sometimes our needs change.

It can be hard to know whether or not the person we are with is the one we should think about a future with. Here is what to look for in a guy who you want around.

1. He cares about your success

A man who tries to bring you down is not a man you want to be with. The man you’re supposed to be with is supposed to celebrate your success with you and will do whatever he can to help you reach your goals. You don’t need to be with someone who isn’t going to bring you up.

2. He’s ambitious

Just like he wants to help you succeed, he wants to succeed himself. You don’t need to be with someone who has no work ethic. If you’re busting your butt while he sits at home all day doing nothing, then there is something wrong here. That isn’t a healthy relationship – that’s dependency.

3. He can make you laugh

Life is too short to be in a boring relationship for the rest of your life. Having fun with someone is one of the most important parts of a relationship. You need someone whom you can sit around with on a rainy day and still be entertained.

4. He prioritizes you

Your time is precious. You need a man who is going to realize that and respect it. There are going to be so many people in your life who are going to waste your time. There is no need for you to date someone who is just going to do the same thing.

5. He’ll keep you on your toes

You don’t need someone who is just going to go along with everything you say. You need someone who is going to challenge you. It’s no fun when there isn’t someone to have stupid, little arguments about who is right or wrong when it comes to certain topics. This doesn’t have to just come along with arguments. You need someone who continues to surprise you. Whether it be a date or something he does to show you that he cares, you don’t need complete normalcy.

6. He’ll know when to stop

We’re not always right when it comes to a disagreement, whether we like to admit it or not. Everyone goes too far every once in a while, and you need someone who is going to understand that, and doesn’t blame you too much. It can be difficult to admit when you’re wrong and sometimes you just won’t have it in you to admit it just yet.

This may end up in a fight escalating into something you didn’t want it to. Nonetheless, you need someone who knows when the fight isn’t worth having or when it’s going too far and will just stop it there. You need a man who will realize that the relationship is worth more than the fights.

7. He’ll drop anything to help you

Your man needs to be there for you when things go wrong. It can be anything to driving to get you when your car got a flat tire or even if you just had an awful day and need someone to cheer you up.

Your man is supposed to be your biggest cheerleader, just like you are supposed to be for him. You both need to do things to help the other person when they really need you. That’s a part of an amazing relationship – where you know the other person is there for you no matter what.

8. He’s patient with you

You need someone who isn’t going to force you to do anything you’re not ready for. You don’t need to be with someone who doesn’t understand why you aren’t ready to take your relationship to the next level or why you’re not ready to meet his parents.

The right guy will understand and will do anything to help you feel comfortable. He will understand that you take forever to get ready, and won’t make you feel like you’re wasting his time because of it. He’ll know what you enjoy spending your time on, and he’ll find joy in the fact that you’re happy.

9. He’s consistent

He isn’t there one day and then gone the next – physically or emotionally. If your man can’t see you one day you made plans, but then gives you a legit reason why and then tries to reschedule, then you have a great man. You don’t need to be with someone who’s going to lie to you or make you feel afraid to talk to him about anything.

He isn’t going to be lovey-dovey with you one day and then acts like you don’t matter the next day. Someone who is going to treat you like that is a shady human being and you’re better off without him.

10. He doesn’t have to tell you he loves you for you to know he does

Of course, it’s great to hear someone tell you he loves you and truly means it. But it’s another beautiful thing where he doesn’t always have to tell you he loves you for you to be able to really know that he does. We all know the saying, “actions speak louder than words”. It’s so easy for someone to tell you that they love you, but then do things that prove differently.
He will go out of his way to make sure that you know you’re the most special thing in his life, and that he would do anything for you. That’s what love it, and that’s what you deserve from your man.

Being in a relationship isn’t always easy, and of course, it’s going to have some ups and downs along the way, but you need to be with someone who realizes that you’re worth the effort. If your man does all of these things, and really makes you happy, then you should definitely keep him around.

There are not many men you’re going to find who treat you like you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to them. If your man doesn’t have these qualities, then you need to evaluate if you’re in a healthy relationship or not.
