Women struggle with keeping their skin clear all the time. When you’re a teen you have acne and as you grow older a lot of imperfections arise. Aren’t you just tired of it? Luckily, there are things that can help you. Keeping your skin clear is not really rocket science, once you embrace a couple of new rules. They might be the complete opposite from what you thought was good for your skin, but trust me – they work. Here are 5 little known things on how to keep your skin clear.
1. Don’t Wash it too Often
The first thing that would come up in your mind when it comes to keeping your skin clear is to make sure you wash it as often as possible. Well, you know what – that’s wrong! It can actually cause a completely opposite effect.
Washing your skin too often removes the layer of protective oil from your skin. After some time, the cells in your skin realize that you are removing their protective layer on a regular basis and therefore start producing more of it. This in the end results in oily skin, prone to acne. Wash your face twice a day – in the morning and in the evening. That’s enough.
2. Use Natural Soaps
Natural and organic soaps can be a real life savior when it comes to dealing with skin problems. Find the closest organic soap store and pay them a visit as soon as possible.
So, why organic soaps, you ask? All those industrial products that most of us use every day are made by the following rule – if the skin is too oily – the product will dry it out, if the skin is too dry – the product will make it oilier.
This sounds like a generally good rule, but there is a problem with it. After a while, your previously oily skin can now become too dry, but still prone to acne and all the other problems of oily skin. Not only that you haven’t solved the original problem, but you gained another one.
Natural and organic soaps are based on a different philosophy. They are produced in a way to increase your skin’s natural defense and make it produce less oil on its own. In the end, organic soaps give much better long term results.
3. Lemon Juice
Lemon juice could be of a great help in keeping your skin clear. Citric acid is a very powerful cleanser that is especially good for oily skin and acne.
Simply squeeze the juice from one lemon and add one cup of water. Bottle it, keep it in your fridge and use as a tonic. For better results you can add the juice from crushed rosemary leaves. Don’t use on dry, sunburned or damaged skin.
4. Aloe Vera
I believe that aloe vera is every girl’s best friend. Not only that it will help you keep your skin clear, it can also help with minor damages, acne and imperfections.
It’s best to use pure aloe vera juice from the cactus itself. You can use it like a mask and rinse with warm water after 10 minutes, or add water to it and use like a tonic. Apply aloe vera on acne and it will help you get rid of them faster. If you can’t get your hands on pure aloe vera juice, make sure you buy organic aloe vera products.
5. Less Makeup
Whether you want to believe it or not, makeup does damage your skin. It will make it age faster and it can increase the possibility of allergies, acne and redness on your face.
Keep your makeup to a minimum. Don’t apply it whenever possible. Stay away from professional products, because they will make your skin dry.
Never go to bed before removing your makeup and never feel sorry for the money you give for good makeup. Good makeup costs good money, so do your skin a favor and buy quality makeup.
Now you have it – 5 little known things on how to keep your skin clear. Stick to these suggestions and your skin will start to shine again soon.

Another idea I do all the time is this:
Mix together three tablespoons of olive oil with one tablespoon of castor oil and keep in a squeeze bottle in a dry place. Then once a day (I do it at night to make sure the oils had time to set) gently massage onto your face for at least one full minute. (Avoid your eyes and mouth obviously) Take a wash rag and wet it with water that’s hot but not scalding and put it over your face. Leave on for one full minute. This will steam the oil on your face. Then I like to put on some lotion, but it’s not nessesary. Do this every night and in about a week you should see a huge difference! Hope this helps y’all!

Hi Sarah! I have severe acne problem with scars since 6 years. I had tried every possible things, medicines, home remedies, hydroxy treatment, laser for scars, expensive day/night creams, acids, antibiotics, even tried bitter ayurvedic syrups too, but no use, at the end still same thing, it looks so bad specially when you are a working girl and your face has to be presentable. It would be highly appreciated if you can advise the right cure for this.
Thanks
Hey, I changed my diet and lost a bit of weight so i started having horrible painful pimples. I used glycerine soap and it reduced the amount of pimples i had dramatically but they are still there. I decided to buy a gentle scrub, thinking that it was maybe a layer of dirt that needed some attention but its not working. Any advice?
loved the tips here… :*
I have a question. I would like to use a natural soap but I’m shaving with a regular bodywash under the shower, because it glides better. What would you recommend for natural shaving solution?
