74.  Merle’s Door: Lessons from a Freethinking Dog – Ted Kerasote

This is a book for both those who don’t know anything about man’s best friend and dog lovers alike. It is the heartfelt true story of a dog that changed the author’s life and way of thinking for the better. It is inspirational not just for the transformation in the author’s life, but because it shows us that we don’t always need to control everything. If we just allow others to be who they truly are, they can reach their own potential, which works out best for us all.  It is a story of love, patience and understanding. A magnificent masterpiece.

75. The Dash: Making a Difference with Your Life from Beginning to End – Linda Ellis, Mac Anderson

So, what’s the dash? It’s the bit in between your birth date and death date…that’s the dash. In other words, it’s your life. This thought-provoking and hugely inspirational book is based on a poem of the same name, and after reading will make you take a long hard look at your own life. • I love books that can inspire and entertain so I have found myself more drawn to spiritual fiction books as of late. I have to recommend a fantastic spiritual fiction book by author Jay Allan Luboff entitled, “Harry Pond Looks Homeward: The Spiritual Adventures of an Ohio Farm Boy” This book REAAAALLLLYYY inspired me and made me want to read more (luckily this is only the first book of a series due to come out!) The book follows Harry Pond, a Vietnam Vet returning home for the first time in three years. Almost as soon as Harry settles in there is something unexplainable and mysterious happening in his hometown. His Uncle Julius has had a personality change and is now keeping company with dark companions. The book soon becomes a battle between good and evil as Harry and his sister Becky try to save the farm from those who want the land for all the wrong reasons. They take on this mission with help from guardian angels, ascended masters, and show the reader that good always prevails It truly is a magical book that weaves messages of spiritual wisdom into it that can help anyone on their spiritual path. Hope you will give it a read. I truly enjoyed this magical book, not since Celestine Prophecy have I had so much fun on a spiritual adventure. Noticed that on the list so hope this book is added next year!

  • Thank you for taking the time to compile such a nice list. The synopses were excellent and I love your inclusion of books that may not be deemed as inspirational without further contemplation (Black Beauty, Oh the Places You’ll Go, etc). I often turn to the Qur’an for inspiration (and unfortunately have to rely on translations to gain further insight to its meanings).

  • What an amazing list of books. Its thanks to people like you, that keep the positivity alive for us in our daily lives :)

    Thank you

  • A great new inspirational book:

HEAD OVER WHEELS: A “Lucky Stiff” Turns Tragedy into a Cycling Triumph.
Published October 6, 2014 by Sunbury Press.

The inspiring story of how a 56-yr-old avid cyclist recovered from a life-threatening bicycling accident to conquer an “impossible” biking tour just 9 months later. On a training ride going 28 mph, Ken’s bike fork suddenly snapped apart, catapulting him onto his head and breaking his neck and six other bones. With pulverized neck vertebrae, his neurosurgeon said it was a miracle he didn’t die or become a quadriplegic. Five vertebrae were surgically fused to save his life, leaving him with a permanently stiff neck and almost no ability to turn his head.

In a momentous twist of fate, Ken had already registered to ride one of the country’s most difficult bike tours, scheduled nine months later. With no idea if he could ever ride again, Ken made that 5-day/500-mile tour his recovery goal. He tells a remarkable tale of love and support from family and friends, and of spiritual growth, to return to normal in as many ways as possible despite numerous emotional setbacks. From climbing back on a bike for the first time, to walking his daughter down the aisle exactly six months after the accident, readers will share Ken’s joy at reaching each milestone on his recovery journey.

  • Thank you for the list! Reading it made me think of two books i really enjoyed: Seabiscuit by Laura Hillenbrand and Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli. Maybe you will like them too!

  • I really like the list! I would also add these two fables that really inspired me:
The Little Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupery
    Mountain Garden by Will Ottley
These inspirational books are timeless, and although quickly read, take a lifetime to digest. They also have adorable illustrations that make them compelling for kids too.

  • You know I’m only 17 years but I feel 20 now because I jst started reading these inspiring books and ma life has just change for the better I always read books but I never came across such ones and thanks guys for your comments they such beauty full thank ya’ll.
