Khloe Kardashian Diet And Fitness Secrets

Being a member of the Kardashian Klan is no easy feat. With all the cameras and constant scrutiny the girls are always under, looking great is literally part of the job description.

Of all of the girls, Khloe is perhaps the most vocal about the diet and exercise regimes she follows, and is often seen encouraging her mom and sisters to accompany her to fitness classes in the show.

Things haven’t always been easy though. In interviews, she often describes a time when she was younger and felt she didn’t fit in at school like older sisters Kim and Kourtney, and really struggled with her appearance—especially weight gain.

I think that that’s why, of all the sisters, Khloe identifies with us the most, as she has gone through similar struggles that we all go through at some point in our lives, yet has managed to really turn things around for herself and now looks—and most importantly feels—fabulous.

Of course, nothing comes without hard work and Khloe definitely puts in the effort not just in the gym, but with her diet and lifestyle, too.

In her most recent book, “Strong Looks Better Naked,” Khloe reveals how she first got into fitness while still married to Lamar, and how it has helped her through the tough times in her life, making her a much stronger, positive and outgoing person.

She credits trainer Gunnar Peterson, who has also worked with sisters Kim and Kendall, for getting her fitness regime on track by setting her focused goals.

Khloe states how she would bring in pictures of celebrities whose bodies she admired and asked if Gunnar would alter her routine to achieve that particular look.

Refreshingly though, she states that it’s about what your body can do and accepting that you might not be able to get it exactly like them, but definitely close enough so that you are happy with the results and you notice a huge change.

Throughout her book, and as we have seen in the show, it’s clear that exercise is at much a mental health boost for Khloe as it is a physical one as she writes: “One thing people may not know about me is that I’m very passionate. When something upsets me, I feel it right away, and my immediate reaction is to pounce like a lioness. But at the gym, I soon discovered that I could take a moment, curb my natural inclinations and save my ferocity for my exercise. I feel a tremendous sense of relief as soon I walk through those doors.

Khloe does a variety of different workouts to a playlist that includes Nicki Minaj, Kayne West and Beyonce. She loves cardio, boxing, weight training, swimming and general high intensity workouts as she states she is addicted to sweating as it makes her feel like she is releasing the toxins and that she has accomplished something. However, she also loves a gentle hike in the Hollywood Hills, which Kim and Kylie are known to join her on.

Naturally, food also plays a huge part in how she maintains her look. Khloe has sought advice from nutritionist Dr. Philip Goglia after falling into a period of bad eating habits; she was advised to avoid carbs after 4pm as well as foods that contain gluten, yeast and dairy.

Khloe states that she doesn’t believe in fad diets—especially ones that encourage you to do any form of extreme calorie restriction. What’s refreshing is that if Khloe wants cake, she’ll eat that cake but just not all the time, which a down-to-earth way of treating yourself on occasion without punishing yourself for it, which Khloe is a big believer in.

Khloe has a strict day-to-day diet that includes starting the morning off with a huge glass of water before her morning coffee. Previously, she drank soda in place of water, but soon realized the amazing benefits of adding more water to her routine.

She adds melon to in the afternoon to give it a little twist—a recipe that Kim was quick to steal after trying it while pregnant with Saint. Water is amazing at helping to flush out toxins, which is why Khloe loves it so much—not to mention, it doesn’t contain sugar that gets stored as fat unless we burn it off.

Throughout the day, Khloe has set eating times and will consume dishes such as Chinese chicken salad for lunch and plenty of healthy snacks throughout the day.

Just like with her exercise regime, Khloe believes in enjoying the food that you eat even if it’s healthy and not a bag of potato chips (which she says she used to eat bags of just because she enjoyed the sound of the crunch!).

As she has got more into fitness and received the amazing mental and physical benefits, she has become more motivated, and she states that motivation is key to maintaining any routine. It has been said Khloe used to have rest days over the weekend but found Monday too difficult, so she now works out every day, but at her own pace.

While the Kardashians have had their fair share of controversy over the years, let it be said that Khloe is one strong lady who works hard to maintain her health, body and wellbeing.

Diet and exercise are extremely important for her in ways that stretch way beyond the physical benefits as she attributes her workouts to helping her through the good as well as the tough times. Khloe is just one example that nothing comes without hard work and determination but, ultimately, if you stick with it, it will lead to your success.
