10 Things Guys Notice About You Instantly and What to Do About It

Have you ever wondered what goes on in a guy’s mind the first time you meet him? Do you wonder if he notices anything at all or if he looked right through you? Rest assured, he noticed you. Here are the top 10 things guys notice about you instantly.

It isn’t always easy to tell what a guy thinks, but it is easy to tell what he notices first. Men are very visual creatures and a guy is very quick to notice little things you might not even realize he’s paying attention to.

Before you head off on that blind date, or go to the bar looking to meet someone, here are ten things guys notice about you instantly.

#1 Your Smile

Probably the very first thing a man notices about you is your smile. While not all men are particular about a woman’s teeth, your smile says almost everything he needs to know about you. Do you smile genuinely? Is it a friendly smile or a sarcastic smile? Perhaps you have a hesitant smile? Whatever the case may be, he’s going to notice, and if it isn’t genuine and open to him, then he’s going to be hesitant about getting to know you.

#2 Your Interactions With Others

Have you ever watched a guy interact with other people? Did you judge him based on his kindness, his manners, his generosity or good attitude? If so, you’re not alone. Men notice this aspect of women as well. If you’re rude to the waitress, he’s going to notice (and he won’t like it). If you’re apologetic for something you didn’t do, he’s going to notice and think you have really low self-esteem. Guys notice how you are with others.

#3 Your Hair

Yes, he notices your hair. He sees the color, the shine, the style, and if he gets close enough, the smell, which is why it’s extremely important your hair is clean and tidy and at least presentable at all times.

#4 Your Eyes

Men notice your eyes. First they notice the color of your eyes, and then they notice the shade of them. Also, they notice whether or not you’re looking them in the eyes when you speak. Eye contact is an absolute must for a man. Besides, he definitely wants to get lost in those gorgeous peepers of yours.

#5 Your Laugh

A man will notice a lot of things about a woman, but her laugh might be the thing that keeps him interested. If you giggle and laugh at every little thing he says, it will eventually get annoying. Laugh at his jokes, giggle when appropriate, but your smile is going to get you further than a school girl giggle or constant nervous laughter.

#6 Your Confidence

People wear confidence like a comfortable sweater. Either you have it or you don’t. While many of us have days where we feel less than confident, a man will notice a woman who is self-assured. You don’t have to be arrogant or rude to be confident; you just have to be comfortable with who you are. Confidence is always a turn on (for both sexes). By the way here are some cool songs to instantly boost your confidence.

#7 Your Shirt

Okay, they say the clothes make the man, but this is also true for women. I’ve noticed men tend to look at me more when I have on a soft and feminine top, and I get hit on a lot more when I look a little dressed up. However, I get more guy pals or “buddies” when I’m in my jeans and Captain America t-shirt. Trust me, ladies, he noticed your shirt. Which also brings up the point of not wearing shirts that are inappropriate, stained, raggedy, or otherwise unflattering if you’re out to meet a man.

#8 Your Manners

Just like your interaction with others, a guy will also notice your manners. Did you chew with your mouth closed? Do you hold the door open for little old ladies? Did you thank him for holding the door open for you or for buying you dinner? Manners are an important statement of what kind of person you really are. While you don’t have to be Miss Perfect (because that can actually be a little intimidating), you do have to mind your Ps and Qs and show him that you were raised properly.

#9 Your Nails

I’m going to be completely honest here about women’s nails. Men do notice your nails, they really do. They see what shade of nail polish you have on, how long your nails are, and they notice if you bite your nails or have dirt under them.

Certain nail polish colors can frighten a man instantly (long nails painted deep red on a first date is not something I recommend). They also notice if your toe nails are painted and well groomed (this speaks volumes about how much a woman takes care of herself).

However, if you have a three hundred dollar manicure and are afraid of touching anything for fear of chipping or breaking a nail, then he’s going to assume you’re high-maintenance. Also, if you have chipped nail polish that you haven’t changed in weeks, he will assume you don’t care enough about your appearance.

Not having nail polish can go either way really, but as long as your nails are clean and well-manicured you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

#10 Your Shoes

Yes, he notices your shoes. A man will notice if you’re wearing high heels to a ball game, tennis shoes to a black tie event, or flip flops in the middle of a snowstorm. Trust me: Make sure your shoes are appropriate before you go out with him.

There are many things guys notice about us before we even say hello and first impressions are always important. Keep yourself clean and well-groomed (even if you just brush your hair and put on a little mascara). So, what was the first thing your guy noticed about you?
