Top 10 Worst Foods

There’s food that’s good for you and there’s food that’s not so good for you; and then there is this – a list of 10 types of food you should stay as far away from as possible. I’m presenting you top 10 worst foods.

1. Frozen Pizza

frozen pizza

Not all pizza is bad, but almost all frozen pizza is. It’s made to last longer so it is full of additives and preservatives and on top of that it is made from bleached flour. Bleached flour has the same effect on your body as sugar, which means weight gain and potential diabetes. So next time you buy a frozen pizza, you might as well just eat raw sugar. It’s probably less bad than the frozen pizza dough.

2. Snacks

Everyone likes to snack, but almost no one knows just how bad snacks are for your health. No matter if it is potato chips, tortilla chips or anything else you can think of, snacks are packed with sodium and trans fats. In addition to that, potato chips contain acrylamide which is a highly carcinogenic substance.

3. Margarine

A lot of people buy margarine instead of butter because it is said to be lower in calories. That is a very wrong decision. Not only that margarine can contain more calories than butter, it is also packed with both trans fat and saturated fat. In fact, one tablespoon of some brands of margarine contains more than a daily dose of both trans and saturated fat. Low fat butter is a much better choice.

4. Chicken Nuggets

You must have been living on another planet if you’ve managed to miss how chicken nuggets are made. The process usually goes as follows: the whole chicken (and I mean whole; feathers, eyes and intestines) is put into a grinding machine and minced. This meat, not being cleaned of intestines, is now full of bacteria and treated with ammonia. Yes, you heard it right – ammonia! Since it becomes tasteless after that process, it is packed with artificial additives and flavors. Still feel like eating nuggets?

5. French Fries

Traditional French fries with ketchup

Much loved French fries are quite bad for your health. They contain the same ingredient found in potato chips – the highly carcinogenic acrylamide. This substance is released when white potatoes are heated on high temperatures. Furthermore, most restaurants that serve French fries don’t really change the oil in deep fryers too often. Even though some oils, such as palm oil, can be reheated up to five times, most oils release a lot of carcinogenic ingredients when reheated.

6. Flavored Milk

You might love chocolate or strawberry flavored milk, but trust me – stay away from it. Flavored milk actually contains more sugar that soda. All of the benefits that you get from the calcium in that milk can’t measure up to the harm of that sugar. If you want calcium, drink plain white milk.

7. Sodas

Cold soda iced drink in a glasses

A typical can of soda contains 10 teaspoons of sugar and 150 calories. It is also full of artificial flavors, food color and additives. Plus, soda is highly acidic which causes damage to your teeth and your internal organs as well. Don’t believe it? Leave a piece of raw meat in a glass of cola overnight and see what happens. Soda is also very harmful to your kidneys, since it is your kidneys that filter all that bad stuff from it. Soda consumption is linked to obesity, teeth decay, heart diseases and osteoporosis.

8. Diet Sodas

Believe it or not, diet sodas are even worse than regular sodas. They contain all that stuff that’s bad for your health that you can find in a regular soda, plus artificial sweeteners and a whole lot of other harmful Ingredients. Diet sodas contain aspartame, which has, among many other diseases, been linked to: anxiety attacks, epilepsy, hearing loss, migraines and even death.

9. Microwave Food

Anything that has been prepared in a microwave oven is not good for your health. All of the microwave dishes are packed with additives and preservatives. Most of those dishes also contain artificial stabilizers, flavors and colors and bleached flour. Avoid preparing your food in the microwave as much as you can.

10. Milkshakes

Homemade Cookies and Cream Milkshake in a Tall Glass

Last but certainly not least – stay away from milkshakes. A single milkshake contains as much as 2000 calories, depending on the brand and ingredients. That amount equals the recommended daily calorie intake! Now, I know that milkshakes are super tasty and we all love them, but come on! Do you really want to do that to your body? A milkshake should be made out of milk and fruit; that’s it! It shouldn’t have any additional ice cream, whipped cream or insane amounts of sugar. Yes, I know, you’ll say that it’s not a milkshake if it’s only made out of milk and fruit, but you know what? I don’t really care if you call it a smoothie or whatever you like; I’d always take that rather than a 2000 calorie milkshake however tasty it might be.

I strongly advise you to completely stay away from the food on this list. If you can’t really exclude it completely, at least give your best to lower the amount of it. Your body will thank you.
