3 Hottest Things to Do in Egypt This Spring

Egypt is a place every person should see at least once in their lifetime. It offers something for everyone, wether you are looking for history or just want to have fun. Check out 3 hottest things to do in Egypt this spring.

1. Visit the Pyramids of Giza

Pyramids are what Egypt is most famous for. You can’t go to Egypt and not see the pyramids; it would be like you never even went. It doesn’t matter if you are going by yourself or in a group, you absolutely have to see the pyramids of Giza.

The Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx are the last remaining wonders of the old world. They are the world’s oldest tourist attraction. Almost every hotel in Cairo will book you on a tour to see the pyramids of Giza. The tour is not really expensive, especially in comparison to the real value of the tour. Make sure you bring your camera, but bear in mind that you will need to pay some extra money to take pictures. It usually costs between 1 and 1, 5 $ to take pictures and around 16$ to shoot a video.

Don’t forget your sunglasses, a hat and sun lotion, you’ll be in the desert after all. The tour lasts between 3-4 hours, so bring enough water and maybe even some food. In any case, do not miss the pyramids; they are what Egypt is all about.

2. Take a Camel Ride Through the Desert

It’s not like you have a chance to ride a camel every day of your life. It’s most likely that this will be a once in a lifetime experience. It’s one of the coolest things to do in Egypt.

Ask for camel tours at the resort you are staying in. They usually already offer organized tours, and even if they don’t, they can help you find someone who does. Bear in mind that Egyptians like to bargain, so you don’t have to agree on the first price you are offered, especially if you’re going on a private tour. The prices for groups are usually firmly set.

Dress in light clothes and bring sunglasses, sun lotion, a big hat and water. Make sure you find out how deep into the desert the tour goes; some just enter the desert, while others take you much further. Don’t annoy your camel, it may spit on you. Bear in mind that you will smell of camel for a couple of hours afterwards. Nevertheless, it is all totally worth it.

3. Cruise Down the Nile

One of the hottest things to do in Egypt is to book a cruise on the River Nile. It is the largest river in the world, and cruising on it is something you will remember for the rest of your life.

Cruises usually last between three and five days and go from Aswam to Luxor. Nile cruises are really very popular and can be anything between a cruise on a simple boat to a full luxury, all inclusive cruises with pools, spas and hot tubs. You can also book a private cruise if your budget allows you to, and choose the places you want to see.

The general tour lets you see the stunning Valley of the Kings, Edfu Temple, Kom Ombo and the wonderful Philae Temple in Aswan. Make sure to bring a mosquito repellent though, you are cruising on the largest river in the world after all. Even though there haven’t been reported cases of malaria on Nile cruises, save yourself from the annoying buzzing and itching bites.

Before you start your trip to Egypt, make sure you have the information about the vaccines you need to take. Don’t let anything spoil your perfect vacation.
