5 Fabulous Home Remedies for Oily Skin

Treating oily skin can get expensive if you get lost in all the high brand and high price products that supposedly help you in an instant. But they rarely do the trick. So, here are some fantastic home remedies that will definitely help you, and – it will cost you almost nothing!

1. Clay Mask

Clay or mud masks are one of the best ways to go, when it comes to oily skin. They reduce greasiness and even out your skin’s texture and tone. The way to make your own mask is using facial clay and witch hazel, which you can get online, or at natural food stores.

Add 1 tablespoon of witch hazel to 1 teaspoon of facial clay, and stir until they’re well mixed in together. It’s okay to add a couple of drops of aromatic oil for fragrance, but seeing as how you’re trying to fight oily skin you might be better off without that.  Leave the mask on for about 10 minutes – until the clay dries off and then rinse it off.

2. Mango Face Mask

Very popular in Indonesia, where it’s used by many Indonesian women to cleanse pores, tone the skin, and control its oiliness. The way to make this one is to mash a mango fruit until it turns mush and then massage it into your skin. Leave it on for five minutes, and then rinse it off.

3. Apple and Lemon Mask

This is also a great face mask that can work wonders when it comes to oily skin. Place one apple in a pot, add water over it, and leave it to simmer until it’s soft. Afterwards mash the apple and add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of dried lavender. Apply it on your face, leave it on for 5 minutes and rinse it off with warm water.

4. Egg-white Mask

Mix 1 teaspoon of honey with an egg white and stir them together, adding flour until it turns into a paste. Apply the paste on your face, but be careful not to get some in your eye. Let it dry for about 10 minutes before washing it off with warm water. You’ll see the difference right away.

5. Egg-yolk Mask

Simply apply one egg-yolk on your face and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Afterwards wash it off with cool water and watch as the oiliness vanishes from your face.
