Start your day being strong, energetic and productive:
1. The Night Before, Write a Note of the Five Most Important Obligations and Extract the Most Important One
At the end of the day you already know what awaits you tomorrow. Unless you work in customer service or, for example, the PR, it is not likely for something to come up overnight, and that something unexpected will be your tomorrow’s priority. It is especially important to know exactly which of the five is the most important obligation.
2. Pack as Many Items as Possible Before Going to Bed
Before bedtime eliminate unnecessary and put the necessary things in the bag. There’s a high probability that you’ll forget something essential in the morning, which will make your morning more stressful. Take as much stress off from your morning as possible.
3. Wake up 30 Minutes Earlier than You Usually Do
Regardless of the time you usually get up, set the alarm 30 minutes earlier. It might be painful at first, but you will eventually get used to it and have more time to prepare.
4. Put the Alarm Clock Across the Room
Put the alarm on the other side of the room. Force yourself to get up and walk it off. This is especially good if you wake up with the help of the alarm on your cell phone. Namely, it is dangerous to sleep near a cell phone that radiates all night. This is also very good if you’re one of those people who hit “snooze” all the time – I know I am one (damn that awful option).
5. Eat Breakfast
Two of the best things you can do for yourself in the morning are exercise and a healthy breakfast. If exercise is not part of your morning routine, OK. But make sure you eat – something healthy and sugar free.
6. Read for 15 to 20 Minutes
Not referring to reading your e-mail. Read newspapers, part of that great novel you’ve been meaning to read for a while now, Vogue… Maybe the best choice is You Queen. Yes, read You Queen. Who needs Vogue.
7. Spend Time with Your Family
Read on if you are alone, but if your family is awake, read while commenting on what you just read with them. Concentrate on each other. It will make you warm all day.
8. When You Get to Work, Do Your Prior Task Before You Check Your E-mail
If at all possible, devote half an hour to the priority of the day. It will make you less stressed all day – most probably a very, very good one.
