Let’s face it, while you might pretend not to be curious as to what your sign says about your sex life, that’s why you’re really here, isn’t it? It’s totally okay. We all do that.
Trust me, nobody personality stalks more than an astrologer—I almost run a cosmic background check on everyone I know. It’s sort of like stalking their Facebook profile, only I get the deeper inside peek.
Of course, this is just the sun sign; if you really want to dig deep, you’ll need their full chart, but this is a good way to get things started.
So, how do you know if that guy you’re checking out is more Netflix and Chill or James Spader in The Secretary? How can you tell if she’s going to be a bit more June Cleaver and less Glenn Close with a cleaver, a la Fatal Attraction?
Honestly, the best way is to have their full chart done. While “Hey, baby, can I get your full date of birth, including time and place?” usually works out alright for me—I’m an astrologer—recognizing that most of you probably aren’t, I imagine asking that can get a bit awkward.
That’s why I decided I’d write up a few general truths for you about sex for the sun signs. This will give you a little peek into what gets their motor running, but bear in mind that this is just in the bedroom.
Sometimes, what works there just doesn’t translate well into a relationship—I’m pretty sure we’ve all been there.
Aries
I have to say that Aries are my favorite in bed. There’s just something tremendously satisfying about a lover who knows not only what they want, but delights in going after it.
Aries tend to be more the hunter and less the hunted, and they can be absolutely insatiable. If you’re a Leo, Libra, Scorpio or Gemini, you may just find that the chemistry there sets you on fire in the best possible ways. It might drive you crazy in the process, but what a nice way to go mad.
Taurus
If there’s one thing you can bet on with a Taurus, it’s that they’re looking for something more sensual than sexual. Don’t get me wrong: they don’t mind getting off, but it’s the getting there that really does it for them.
They enjoy bringing all the senses into sex and touching is always a very important thing to them. The problem, though, is that they’re not generally that aggressive about pursuing lovers, so you may have to take the initiative.
If you happen to be Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer or Scorpio, the chemistry can be amazing.
Gemini
Open-minded generally does not even begin to describe this sign. Playing around and experimenting in the bedroom is a lot of fun for Gemini, and quiet sex just isn’t their thing.
If they aren’t a screamer, odds are pretty good they hope you will be. They tend to be a lot of fun to flirt with, but don’t take that for an open door—it may not be. Unpredictable and a bit wild, this sign bangs best with other Geminis, Sagittarius, Aries and Aquarius.
Cancer
Cancers can be the masters or mistresses of hard to get. Once gotten, however, it tends to be a sensual thrill ride balancing raw, primal sex and romance.
Intense lovers, people often find that they are nearly psychic when it comes to their wants and needs but, when alerted to more, they tend to do all they can to make sure those needs are met—and then some.
Blending love and lust is definitely their thing, but barring that, you just can’t go wrong with oral. The hottest sign combinations here are Capricorn, Leo, Pisces and Taurus.
Leo
Leos have a ferocious sex drive that usually comes as little surprise to those who have been drawn in by their chemistry. They’re a lot of fun to be around and really get off on pleasure, which sounds obvious, but remember: we’re talking sex and different strokes for different folks so to speak. Or not.
Anyway, they tend to be fairly passionate lovers, but they can be a bit needy—they want to know that they’re the absolute best you’ve ever had it. Rather, fortunately, most of them will strive to make sure of it.
If you’re another Leo, Sagittarius, Aries or Scorpio, you may just find that magnetic draw you have certainly doesn’t steer your wrong in the sack.
Virgo
In spite of the name, Virgos are not innocent at all. They can be remarkably sexual people and enjoy touching, making out and back rubs. They aren’t typically the most demanding lovers, but “making it look effortless” might leave them a little bored and unappreciative.
They want to know that efforts have been made in seduction whether in a relationship or with a one night stand. The sex is hottest with Capricorn, Pisces, Libra and Taurus.
Libra
Libras are known to be a little uptight by way of stereotypes but, honestly, it’s not something you should take for granted. Mind games are a real thing with them, though, that’s not a negative: they want to play, and they want to have a good opponent in doing so.
Out and out sexuality really isn’t something they dig; instead, they crave the power of suggestion—not beating around the bush (though, I HAVE known some kinky Libras who were into that.), but rather sexy dancing, music or other romantic elements to set the mood.
Scorpio
Okay, you know, everyone says this stuff about Scorpios when it comes to sex. They do have a bit of a reputation for being incredibly naughty types. That’s seriously underestimating them.
The tendency in writing about Scorpios has usually been to sort of describe them as something like walking life support systems for their genitals: this couldn’t be further from the truth.
Don’t get me wrong: they can be horny types, but they’re also into role playing, power, control and desire is a more serious motivator than simple lust. The best signs in bed for Scorpio? Other Scorpios, Leos, Pisces,] and Taurus.
Sagittarius
In spite of all that I know, I am often really surprised by how affectionate Sagittarius lovers are in bed. They tend to be sort of brutally honest everywhere else, so sweet and attentive comes as a bit of a shock—but they really are.
They’re also into spontaneous sex and are ever creative, looking for new and interesting things both in general and in the bedroom. They tend to be huge flirts, not shy about expressing their desires and, well, a whole lot of fun. They do best with Gemini, Aquarius, Leo and Aries.
Capricorn
If a Capricorn lover has you in their sights, just call it in. You’re probably going to walk weird for a while. (I’m a Capricorn, by the way.) We happen to be, like Scorpio, often misunderstood.
Only, we are seen as somewhat cold, aloof and uncaring until you realize that our ambition isn’t limited to financial gain. Our libidos are often described as primal and intense, and we have the stamina to go with it (long term gains—it’s a thing! Really).
A bit on the picky side from the outset, while Capricorn wants to let loose the horny goat, we’re also very keen on not only being the best, but having the best as well. Though I did say I enjoy Aries lovers, we actually tend to fare better with Cancer, Virgo, Taurus and, of course, other Capricorns.
Aquarius
Aquarius natives may strike you as a little dull at first. You might enjoy the fact that they’re very seductive and that they are very “go with the flow” when it comes to sex.
However, the key to unlocking that extremely sensual side of an Aquarius? Play with their head a bit. Be careful with power plays, though, because being completely vulnerable is an intriguing, albeit very weird, place for them.
However, that’s a Pandora’s box of delights that, once open is way open. Once an Aquarius feels at ease with you, they are some of the most imaginative and enthusiastic bed partners you’ll ever have. They have excellent chemistry with other Aquarius, Sagittarius, Virgo and Gemini.
Pisces
On the outset, you might find Pisces to be a little odd. You’d be wrong: they are actually very odd—in the best possible ways. They’re usually very attentive, easygoing and openly communicate their needs and wants.
They are playful, sensual and romantic, but, when faced with an equally playful, open-minded person, the sparks really start flying. They’re awesome because they have this strong desire to please others, which translates into amazing sex.
If you’re going for a Pisces, however, understand that you need to really work their fantasies for all they’re worth. Do that and you’ll never be bored in the bedroom. The highest chemistry signs for Pisces are Libra, Virgo, Cancer and Scorpio.
