The culture it breathes, influences all fashion-walks of life, all the way from haute couture to green living. It’s everywhere now. Here, we have the four best stores to fulfill you deepest hipster desires.
#4 American Apparel
American Apparel breathes the classic American Dream. The brand has features of the glory days of the USA, a look I feel like many Hipsters strive for (whether they realize it or not).
The simple store has a wide range of basics that can make you look chic and effortless. Even better, the clothes compliment your body, no matter how many or how little curves you have. There’s something for everyone.
The Infamous Disco Pant
Personally, I own the Red and Imperial Purple, and these are the best pants on the planet. Forget searching for the perfect skinny jeans, these are the perfect everything.
Particularly favorable for hipsters, The Disco Pant is nice and tight (takes me about 7 minutes to get on), and comes in a variety of noticeable colors, making you “pop!” everywhere you go.
Velvet
Velvet is also very “in” for the Hipster world right now and American Apparel sure has a ton of it.
Whether you want a colored velvet dress, a shiny velvet sweater, or just a deep rouge velvet headband, AA is a great place to get it. And what’s a Hipster without some velvet?

Go ahead and type “floral” into the search box. Almost 1,000 results come up! ASOS has so much floral it’s ridiculous. The little Hipster in you can truly look like a beautiful flower with all that ASOS has to offer.
Bags and Purses
Take a stroll through their “Bags and Purses” section and you’ll find cute clutches and backpacks galore! They have simple neutrals and unique things like the Neon Heart Clutch. Don’t fret over not being able to find the right bag or clutch for your Hipster wishes, ASOS has it!
#2 Free People
Hipsters, to me, always give an air of wanting to be free, to fly away like a bird, journeying from place to place, settling their physical self but never really their souls. They are truly “Free people.”
This store looks like it belongs in another time altogether. The clothing here, though much of it is pricey, is absolutely gorgeous. I feel like if every Hipster had indispensible cash, it would all go here.
I almost feel a sensation of not being able to breathe when I look at their stuff. And when you go to their site, go to “Trends,” and see what they have for February. The “Moroccan Romance” and “Retro Grade” trends are particularly interesting.
#1 Urban Outfitters
Was this what you were expecting to be number one? Yes? No? Well while many Hipsters roaming around today may think that Urban Outfitters might be too cliché and commercialized for their needs, it’s still a great Hipster destination.
Accessories & Jewelry
UO is great for getting statement necklaces and all sorts of pretty headwraps. Many of the items are unique, of course, and with such a wide selection, there’s surely something for everyone’s personal Hipster style.

Hipsters want to be different all the way around. Urban Outfitters understands that being a Hipster isn’t just what you wear. It’s how you live. You want an intense tapestry, a lantern, or even something silly? Go here. You can even get Hipster furniture! You can get your clothing and accessories everywhere else but you have to spend some time at UO to decorate your life too.
Being a Hipster has truly evolved. The clothes can be plain, but most of the time, they are stunning and intricate. They support movements, they challenge the norm. Hipsters propel the fashion world to try harder and do better.
And all types of fashion needs an icon right? This one’s for you Lana Del Rey. The beautiful singer simply looks like Coachella everywhere she walks. She’s the epitome of floral headwraps and denim shorts. Ever notice how many times she’s either wearing the American Flag or has it in the background? The “National Anthem” singer should become a model for American Apparel, or maybe even create a special line for them. Who’s your Hipster icon?
